Morpeth was established in 1821 on the banks of the Hunter River. Morpeth was once a thriving river port for ships taking goods around Australia and the world. Today visitors travel to Morpeth to experience the eclectic mix of retail offerings, relaxed dining options and the gorgeous heritage perspective of Swan Street. Accommodation offered includes two upstairs suites, the Gold Room with king bed (or twin singles) and the Silver Suite with queen bed. The Garden Suite is also available which offers a bedroom with double French bed, sitting room and en suite facilities. This is suitable for the couple who are travelling with a child.

Morpeth Chapel Jazz is a joint venture of the three churches of Morpeth. Until the 1980s, Morpeth was a rundown village in fear of demolition. Then it was slowly rejuvenated as a destination and what was left of its charming buildings rescued from the bulldozer. A few local businesses joined together to establish a small jazz festival in the bicentenary year of 1988. The jazz festival soon acquired a life of its own and by 2000 had developed into a major event. In 2009 Jazz returned to Morpeth when the three churches got together to revive the Morpeth Jazz Festival as ChapelJazz. Visit Morpeth Wine Cellar and Moonshine Distillery to taste boutique Hunter wines and Morpeth Moonshine. There are two copper pot stills where Morpeth Moonshine is made on-site including Original, Aniseed, Strawberry, Butterscotch and Lemon Moonshine. They also make a Honey liqueur (similar to a Meade) and an Uncut. Taste Rosebrook Estate wines, a selection of Morpeth Wines and Chilli Wine. Morpeth Wine Cellar has bulk Liqueur Verdelho and Liqueur Muscat, Binnorie Labna (yoghurt) and marinated Fetta. Also available are local jams, sauces, vinegars and olive products. Many of these products are available for tasting. Why not pick-up some Kurrajong Native Wild Hibiscus Flowers in syrup. These are a fantastic addition to Champagne.
