2017 will see the first Stealth Series offshore competition in the Southern states. With Australian Kayak Specialists running hugely popular events up North for a few years now, Sea Sherpa have taken up the challenge of bringing a competition down south. They are expecting a solid turnout, with a few border hoppers from South Australia having already put their hands up to try and pants the Victorians. With a cracking kingfish season down the coast this year and plenty of reports of tuna mixed with kingfish schools, Portland?s North Shore will be the venue. The competition will be based at Henty Bay Beachfront Park with ramp access to North Shore. Accommodation will be busy, so plan ahead. The competition briefing, equipment check and final chance for registrations will be on the Friday night, 27 January 2017 at 8pm, with Saturday fishing from 6:30am to 1:30pm. Barbecue and presentations will take place back at the caravan park afterwards....

The Portland Powerhouse Motor and Car Museum features veteran, vintage and classic cars, motorcycles, a Penny Farthing bicycle, stationary engines, signs, models, a 1920's cable tram and grip car, tractors and general motoring memorabilia. The Upwelling Festival in Portland offers a fantastic and vibrant way for visitors and Portland locals to celebrate and showcase the unique eco-tourism features of the beautiful coastal town, the Bonney Upwelling. The Bonney Upwelling is a seven month long natural ocean occurrence where krill form dense swarms up to a kilometre in length. These exceptional feeding conditions trigger a feeding frenzy of whales, seals, giant crabs, tuna, crayfish, squid, fish and seabirds. The Festival includes the Blessing of the Fleet, Street Parade, Festival Market, Live Entertainment, Marine Environment Talks, Whale Boat Races along with a major community art project. The Festival is run in conjunction with two other well-established and popular local events - the Rotary Art Show (all weekend) and the Portland Three Bays Marathon (Sunday morning). Together these events provide a weekend-long program of activities for locals and visitors....
