Marlo Cottage is a self-contained three-bedroom cottage with accommodation for up to six people in three queen size beds, just minutes to Beechworth's historic town centre. In the 19th century Marlo Cottage was originally home and studio to Beechworth's leading portrait photographer J H Bray, who reportedly took Ned Kelly's photograph in the upstairs room. The cottage is fully renovated with lovely old furniture and is situated near the central crossroads of Beechworth. The top floor bedroom has an ensuite built in what was once the photographer's development room. There is a separate bathroom for the two downstairs bedrooms. Ideally suited to couples and friends, children may stay at the discretion of the management. The lounge is equipped with a gas log fireplace, smart television and comfortable lounge and chairs. Beechworth Rodeo is a full pro rodeo event prescribed by the Professional Rodeo Association of Australia. The rodeo showcases a full program of events including bull ride, saddle bronc ride, bareback bronc ride, barrel race, rope and tie, steer wrestle, team roping and breakaway roping. The Rodeo is a fantastic family day out, and along with the main event offers catering and sideshows to entertain the whole family. The Rodeo has proven to be an essential event for the Beechworth community, and surrounding areas, bringing thousands of visitors to the region. Come and visit Creswick Natural Fibres in Beechworth to tour and learn about the history of Creswick Woollen Mills while enjoying the Very Fine Yarn exhibition. The interactive experience showcases the journey of fibre; all the way from its source on the alpaca, through the manufacturing process and how it ends up on the shop shelf.
