Built in the 1880's, the building was the original home of Deniliquin Police Inspector, J. Dowling Brown, who later became Superintendent of the South West District of New South Wales. Over the years, this wonderful building fell into disrepair until rescued by the Historical Society in 1986. Today, the building contains a fascinating collection of early photographs and items of both historical and social significance to our region. Temporary displays are also featured that focus on specific aspects of our local history....

Starting the walk at McLean Beach, follow the path along the banks of the Edward River past magnificent red gum trees and sandy beaches. Head past the hospital, police station, and medical centre to the Ute on the Pole. This WB Holden ute was erected in 2000 to celebrate Deniliquin's famous ute muster. Continue under the National Bridge built in 1969. A diversion at the back of the Peppin Heritage Centre brings you to the Mosaic Ute and the Long Paddock sculpture called 'Shod'. Pass the sculptures and head down the ramp to the Island Sanctuary. Keep an eye for out for the birds, kangaroos and beautiful trees. Organise a tour with Yarkuwa Indigenious Knowledge Group. Walk through to the river side of the sanctuary and continue past the first town water supply tower and remnants of where the steam-powered engine was. Finally you enter the Murray Valley Regional Park....

It is recognised as one of Australia's premier rural events that encapsulates the diversity, tradition and vibrancy of Australia. At the core of the festival is the Guinness World Record breaking Ute muster and blue singlet count which see thousands of people from every capital city, town and corner of the land converge to be a part of this unique event. The two-day event consists of World Record blue singlet count, live music concerts, show n' shine, bullride spectacular, trade and catering stalls, whip cracking, woodchop demonstrations, helicopter rides, Brophy's Circus, camel rides, AFL on the big screen, and the Sunrice family centre....

A fun filled event for the whole family featuring live entertainment by the Deniliquin High School Band, Town Band, Sing Australia Choir, Dance Studio One and more.
