Sandalwood Van and Leisure Park is a pet friendly travellers park set on 21 acres of pasture and bushland 12 kilometres south of Ballina on the Pacific Highway. They are minutes to a pet friendly beach, and a one kilometre stroll to the river town of Wardell. There are large, spacious, level powered sites, cabins, a swimming pool and well presented amenities. Just a short drive to Patches Beach and plenty of fishing spots. A lovely quiet park.

Tucki Tucki

The area of Tucki Tucki is known for its Nature Reserve that was created in 1958 to preserve the local koala population and its habitat. The residents of the Tucki district formed a committee and four hectares of land adjacent to the Tucki Public School were planted with a variety of trees to provide food and shelter for the district's diminishing koala population. In 1967 the land came under the control of the New South Wales National Parks and Wildlife Service and was named the Tucki Tucki Nature Reserve. The reserve can be accessed via Wyrallah Road and is a 15 minute drive from Lismore....

Wardell

In the 1850s, Wardell was a cedar getter settlement known as 'Blackwall' where two saw mills operated and the river trade flourished. As the availability of cedar wood diminished, so the opportunity arose for the planting of sugar cane and this now remains the main industry of Wardell. Wardell is a great fishing spot and the 'Wardell Walkabout' is a tour of the historic buildings of a bygone era. A brochure is available at the Ballina Visitor Centre....

Tucki Tucki Nature Reserve

Created in 1958 by a committee of locals caring for koalas this four hectare reserve is dedicated to preserving the local koala population and its habitat. It is located approximately 15 kilometres from Lismore along Wyrallah Road, 5.5 kilometres south of Wyrallah Village. When walking through the reserve keep your eyes peeled high in the trees for koalas....

Broadwater
