At Serenity Grove they look forward to enhancing your Hunter experience. Relax in a rural setting in the Hunter Valley Wine Region; there is native wildlife, award winning vineyards and olive groves all local to their own olive grove and cattle property, in this picturesque valley. There are two fully self-contained three bedroom cottages nestled in a grove of sheoaks on a rural setting, at the foot of Yango National Park, with a commercial grove of olives and grazing cattle, wild kangaroos and native bird life. Situated adjacent to established award winning vineyards, the cottages sleep up to 10 persons per cottage with two bathrooms in each cottage. They offer competitive rates. They now have a pergola (100 square metres) built from timbers on the property, which provides an ideal venue for groups or family reunions. Catering can be arranged if required. There is no smoking inside the cottages.

Bulga Bridge over Wollombi Brook

Main Road 213, Bulga NSW 2330
Bridges are not just functional, they can also be scenic and engineering attractions. Spare a few minutes to admire Bulga Bridge over Wollombi Brook. The Bulga Bridge is a representative example of Dare timber truss road bridges. The Dare truss design is a variation of the Howe truss arrangement of the Allan truss design, substituting a pair of steel channels for the bottom steel chord and employing simplified bottom chord joints by eliminating the pin as used in the DeBurgh truss. By replacing the bottom timber chord with a steel member the structural performance of the bridge design was increased. The Dare truss bridges have the highest survival rate of the five truss types, with 18 still in existence in 2009 (of the 44 built). In fact the first one, completed in 1905 over the MacDonald River at Bendemeer, is still in existence as a footbridge....
