Forest Lodge is situated in the unspoilt beauty of South Gippsland overlooking neighbouring dairy farms and the stunning Strezeleki Ranges. Just a 10 minute drive from the township of Yarram we are approx 2 hours drive from Dandenong. Forest Lodge is a family owned and run adventure activity farm stay camp. We are able to accommodate for School Groups, Youth Groups, Church Groups, Sporting clubs, Social Groups, Family & Friends, Corporate and even Weddings. We have a great range of fun & safe adventure activities to choose from. We will work with you to create a camp program that is just right for your group. Your stay at Forest Lodge can be as actioned packed or as relaxed as you would like it to be, its up to you. We have a large accommodation lodge which is both air-conditioned and heated. A lounge with huge open fire place and state of the art, surround sound audio/visual system including large projector screen and disco lights. Our lodge has a good sized dining room and if you are self catering there is a large commercial sized kitchen with walk in cool room,The bunkrooms in the lodge are clean, comfortable and cosy. Other facilities include a separate recreation hall, a large grassy sports oval with basketball rings and beach volleyball court, in-ground swimming pool and camp fire. Also Forest Lodge Farm really is a farm, we have many farm animals on-site, including an animal nursery (seasonal). A lot of our babies are bottle fed and we are more than happy to let your group help out with feeding and caring for our animals while you are here. Nearby attractions include Wilsons Promontory, Tarra Bulga National Park, the historic town of Port Albert, Coal Creek historic village, Toora Windfarm, Agnes Falls, SEC Powerworks Morwell and Ninety Mile Beach. The Yarram and District Historical Society has a long and distinguished history. First formed in May 1911, it was the first sub-history centre of The Royal Historical Society of Victoria to be formed in Victoria. Under the leadership of Rev. George Cox this group flourished until Rev. Cox in 1915 enlisted and went to serve in the war,the group then closed. The Society was reformed in 1964. The Society has many items of historical interest, large archives of local history, books, photographs, ephemera and other memorabilia covering the Old Alberton Shire. The records of the Yarram and District Historical Society include the areas and towns of Yarram, Alberton, Tarraville, Port Albert, Woodside, Tarra Valley, Won Wron, Macks Creek, Carrajung, Devon North, Jack River, Alberton West, Alberton East, Gelliondale, Hedley, Stacey's Bridge, Blackwarry, Balook, Baloong, Willung, Binginwarri, Willung South, Calrossie, Hiawatha, Woranga, Wonyip, Darriman and Giffard....

Tarra Festival 2017

Now in its 45th year, the Tarra Festival has grown in popularity and size each year. For 2017, the theme of the festival will be ?Dreamtime?, featuring in particular the stories of the GunaiKurnai people. The do not miss activity is the Street Parade on Easter Saturday which includes floats from the local schools and community groups, horses, penny farthings, vintage cars, trucks and more. There are street entertainers, sausage sizzles, cake stalls and heaps of fun for everyone. Prior to the street parade is the Yarram Market and afterwards is the Lions Family Fun Day in Yarram. Activities run across the whole weekend with markets and fun in Port Albert on Sunday, the Monster Markets in Yarram on Monday, and the "Really Living Expo" focussing on Natural Therapies and Sustainable Living, to name but a few of the offerings. So whatever you are doing at Easter long weekend, come and experience Tarra Festival and make sure you do not miss one of Gippsland's biggest and most popular events....

Yarram Courthouse Gallery

The Yarram Courthouse Gallery is a community art space run by members of the gallery with support from staff and volunteers from Mirridong Services Inc. It is located in the renovated Courthouse, a well-known historic building in the main street of Yarram, South Gippsland. Local and regional artists can display their work, raising the profile of the artists in the community. They have regular exhibitions of visual and creative arts. The exhibition space includes professional track lighting, a security system, moveable walls and plinths, allowing for various display options. It also has toilet facilities and a kitchen area to facilitate exhibition openings. The gallery, open every day except Wednesday, shares the building with the local Information and Tourist services as well as a gift shop, both of which bring in a flow of visitors. Gallery members work with exhibitors to provide assistance in arranging exhibitions and openings....

Located in Gippsland's beautiful countryside, the Yarram Variety Market is a small country market with approximately 30 stalls. There is an SES sausage sizzle, Red Cross canteen, Red Cross cake and bric-a-brac stall, clothing, crafts, plants, produce and tools stalls. All stall fees go to help maintain the hall and grounds. Yarram Variety Market occurs on the First Sunday of the month from 8:00am to 1:00pm....

The Angler's Arms and Fisherman's Cottage are situated in a prime position of Port Albert and offer splendid coastal views. Originally a Catholic Church, the Angler's Arms is now two delightful units. Both units have high curved cathedral ceilings providing a spacious and airy ambience to every room. Anglers One is the front of the church, overlooking the Port Albert wharf and marine area. The spacious one bedroom unit offers a queen size bed, separate lounge with all facilities including a television and sound system. You will also find a dining area, fully equipped kitchen and bathroom. The small outdoor garden area offers views of Marina. Anglers Two is at the back of church, looking toward Wilson's Promontory. This two bedroom unit offers a spacious queen bedroom and a second bedroom containing a double bed. A single bed is always available. The large lounge includes a television and sound system. The unit has a fully equipped kitchen and large wheelchair accessible bathroom. The dining area opens onto an outdoor deck. Fisherman's Cottage is a separate building, elevated with lovely views. Underneath there is plenty of room to park your car and boat. The large deck overlooks Wilson's Promontory and Corner Inlet. Inside you will find a queen bedroom and loft above which contains two single beds. Guests will need to bring their own bed-linen and towels. There is a communal laundry on-site, with washing machine and iron/board. Linen can be supplied at a small charge All units have their own car park and boat park. Pets are welcome, conditions apply. No fences are in place, so when outside pets should be restrained....
