The World Sailplane Grand Prix comes to Horsham, NSW in December 2016 a race series for 20 of the top pilots from Australia and overseas. This is a fast demanding and highly competitive race between beautiful and technologically advanced sailplanes using only the suns energy as their power source; it is the world?s first carbon neutral sport. Grand Prix racing in sailplanes is the most competitive, exciting and exhilarating form of sailplane racing, it requires great concentration and skill to seek out and make the best use of the available energy in the air and at the same time employ tactics to gain an edge over the other competitors whilst flying at speeds faster than a F1 car. Each race takes place around a closed course of about 200 km and usually takes about two hours depending on the weather conditions in the race area with up to 20 gliders competing simultaneously. Each race is a test of the pilot?s patience and tactical ability. The Wimmera Health Care Group is hosting Move4Life in Horsham with a two kilometre, five kilometre and eight kilometre run or walk along the Wimmera River. All races start from Sawyer Park, Horsham. There will be free fruit supplied to walkers and runners on completion of the event and a range of entertainment for the kids. Proceeds from this years event will go towards purchasing an Obstetrics Doppler used to monitor the foetal heart by midwives and obstetricians, and used in neonatal resuscitation to listen to the heart of a newborn....

Barangaroo Boutique Wine is all about quiet relaxing times with friends, family and lovers of boutique quality wines. Barangaroo Boutique Wine is located just outside the Grampians, but within the Grampians touring region in Victoria, just ten minutes from Horsham and an interesting day trip from Halls Gap. The new rustic timber cellar door has an expansive undercover deck and is located on a high ridge overlooking a beautiful timbered creek with the mountains in the distance. Taste the medal winning Vermentino in the shade of the vine trellis in the warmer weather or the red wines around the fire in winter and learn about how the wines come to be created. The winery is a busy place in March when the vintage comes in. All wine grapes are hand picked with special tender care given to each bunch to prevent bruising. These grapes are then gently crushed before being fermented in open vats with commercial yeast. When fermentation is complete the skins are pressed off to allow juice to be placed in to barrels....
