The Macarthur Centre for Sustainable Living is a community driven organisation with the aim of promoting sustainable homes and gardens. The unique facility is entirely self-sufficient. It generates its own power, recycles and reuses all rain and waste water, and manages all organic waste on site. The centre is guaranteed to impress. The centre demonstrates the best in environmentally sound design and construction. It is powered exclusively by solar photovoltaic cells, grey and black water is recycled through reed beds, while stormwater is collected and used for toilet flushing and irrigation.
