Nimmitabel is a small rural township on the Great Dividing Range. Settled in the 1850s, it was once known as Nimity Bell, a name said to mean the place where many waters start. Explore the historic village including Geldmacher House and Mill and St Andrew's Catholic Church. In 1959 Nimmitabel was used by Warner Brothers as one of the locations for the filming of Jon Cleary's novel, The Sundowners....

The Nimmitabel Show is a great country rural show with a variety of horse, sheep and dog events along with the produce competition, cooking competition, and the Art and Craft Exhibition. The Beaut Ute competition will also be held. Plenty of fun for all the family with novelty events, poddy calf rides and Karaoke during the afternoon....

Take a wander through Nimmitabel and discover its rich history. The Heritage Walk explores the township and can be completed in an hour, or can be broken into 10 to 20 minute walks. The walk encompasses Geldmacher House - circa 1863, the Town Well, the Old Mill - circa 1872, the beautiful St Andrews Church, and many other interesting features and buildings.
