Blue Mountains Honey Company, located in Penrith, is a family owned and operated Honey Company, open to all with a sweet tooth and honey lovers to visit and enjoy. In the retail outlet you will find a wide range of honey including fruited honey and comb honey. Specialist varieties include Yellow Box and Wildflower. An elegant range of gourmet foods including jam, mustard, pickles and vinegars is also available. All products are available in bulk. Gift packs, hampers, beeswax, candles and skincare range, as well as a unique selection of kitchenware are available. You can find out where the honey is sourced, how it is packed and sample some for yourself. Free group tours welcome by appointment. Morning tea is available for groups by prior arrangement....

The Old Dairy

The Old Dairy is rural bed and breakfast accommodation, at Wallacia, near Penrith. All breakfast needs are provided but they do not offer a serviced breakfast. They are about 15 minutes drive from Penrith and about one hour from Sydney. The accommodation is a self contained cottage on a 50 acre property. There are sleeping facilities for six people. The cottage has a wood burning fire as well as reverse cycle air conditioning. You will probably see wildlife such as parrots, wallabies, even a wombat or echidna. They have a bushwalking trail on the mountain at the rear of the property. They provide mountain bikes for you to use to explore the local area and a picnic basket for your use, if you wish to have a bush picnic. Penny and Bob are usually around to help you, or answer any questions, but they won't intrude on your privacy....

The Edmund Rice Retreat and Conference Centre has modern facilities to offer within buildings which re-tell the early history of New South Wales. It was originally the property belonging to George Cox, whose father William was notably associated with building the first road over the Blue Mountains. Although the original Cox mansion burnt down in 1920, the Bath House and Winery (later converted into the ballroom) still remain along with the stables, all of which have been restored as a chapel, additional conference rooms, and a large dining room. The Edmund Rice Retreat and Conference Centre is located 15 minutes from Penrith, just 10 minutes off the M4 motorway. On site caterers are available, and barbecue facilities are provided for guests. Set on 250 acres in the Mulgoa Valley, it is the venue for many different functions or a rural getaway. There is overnight accommodation for over 100 guests....

Model Park

Model Park is owned and operated by the Sydney Society of Model Engineers Ltd, Australia's largest and oldest model engineering organisation. The Model Park is set on 25 acres of land and has a circular model car track, a boat pond for radio controlled boats and yachts, a miniature train ride track, and an area to fly radio controlled planes. Inside are model trains and a slot car track. Members of the public are welcome to watch society members drive, sail and fly, but participation is for members only. Steam train rides are available to the public along the two kilometre track for a small charge. Barbecues and picnic areas are available on site for you to use on open days. Quiet dogs are welcome, provided they are kept on a lead at all times. ...

Warragamba Dam

Warragamba Dam is the largest concrete dam in Australia and one of the largest domestic water supply dams in the world. Lake Burragorang, which is formed behind Warragamba Dam, is around four times the size of Sydney Harbour. To build the dam, three million tonnes of concrete were placed across the Warragamba River in a series of large, interlocking blocks. The dam grounds reopened to the public in 2009 after a 10-year closure for major dam upgrades. The grounds include a new visitor centre, Water for Life exhibition, viewing platforms and upgraded visitor facilities. Facilities include picnic shelters, electric barbecues, drinking water, toilets, disabled toilets and viewing areas. No wood, charcoal or solid fuel barbecues can be used. Portable gas barbecues are permitted except during total fire bans....
