Ayers House is a prime example of colonial architecture and contains many important decorative features. Of major interest are the ornate painted finishes and examples of trompe l\'oeil on the walls and ceilings of all rooms, the large reception rooms designed for entertaining and the external symmetry of the house with its two matching bow windows.

Today, Ayers House Museum is managed by the National Trust of South Australia. It houses a large collection of antique furniture, silver, paintings and costume, mostly dating from the nineteenth century, and corresponding to the period of Henry Ayers\' occupancy of the house.

Carrick Hill is fortunate in being one of the few period homes in Australia to survive with its original contents almost completely intact and its grounds undiminished.

It was a centre of stylish living; and friends hold fond memories of ahouse constantly filled with laughter, parties, artists, music, good wine,fine food and dancing; and heady with the scent of masses of flowers.While those days are now gone, Carrick Hill remains as an important example of the lifestyle of two wealthy and cultured Australians of the mid-twentieth century.

\'Temptation\' is a 58ft x 32 ft aluminium high performance sailing catamaran, which was built by the owner/operator in South Australia.
She is survey registered to hold 50 day passengers or sleep 19 overnight and can travel anywhere in the world, making her an extremely stable vessel in SA waters.

Art Images Gallery is a contemporary art gallery showcasing the work of local and interstate emerging and established artists. The gallery caters to both art lovers and art investors. The Marion Cultural Centre has been internationally recognised and was one of 12 Australian buildings selected to feature in the Australian Pavilion at the 2006 Venice Architecture Biennale. It is only 15 minutes from the Central Business District. The Marion Cultural Centre comprises a theatre, meeting rooms, art gallery, café, foyer, plaza and the Marion Library. West Beach Mini Golf is an ideal way to inject plenty of fun and a little competition into your life. Historic Glenelg Town Hall takes pride of place as the home of the Bay Discovery Centre, a social history museum interpreting the cultural heritage of Holdfast Bay. The mezzanine gallery hosts exhibitions by emerging and established South Australian artists which celebrate and explore Holdfast Bay's beach culture and represent a diversity of media and practices ranging from paintings and photographs to ceramics, sculpture and jewellery. Artists featured in previous exhibitions have included David Archer, Andrew Baines, Robin Best, Christian Hall, Abbas Mehran, Tim O'Shea, Beverley Southcott, Claire Thompson-Richards, Leo Neuhofer and Gerry Wedd. The Bay Discovery Centre also features community and historical exhibitions, contributing to its distinctive blend of visual art, heritage and tourism.

Historic home ‘Grange’ and exhibition gallery

The Grange is the former colonial residence of the renowned explorer Captain Charles Napier Sturt. It was built in 1840 in what was known as the “Reedbeds”.  After many years of neglect, the house was restored in the 1960s  to ensure that Sturt’s contribution to South Australia’s history was preserved. 

Sturt’s  most significant expedition, the 1829-30 journey to the mouth of the River Murray, played a major role in the establishment of South Australia.  The Grange was also the point of departure for Captain Sturt’s expedition into Central Australia in 1844-46 whereupon he reached within 280kms from the centre of Australia.

In 2004 an extensive gallery wing was developed to display significant artefacts belonging to Captain Sturt which include the Union Jacks carried on both Sturt’s major expeditions, Sturt’s  travelling wash stand, his telescope and the original Desert Peas collected on his return  journey from central Australia.  The Sturt Desert Pea became the State Flora Emblem.

The Grange is registered on the National Estate and the State Heritage List. The museum is a Registered Museum with HistorySA. 

A special feature for visitors is the Herbert Croker model of Sturt’s campsite on the Murrumbidgee River before the boats were assembled for the voyage down the River Murray.  The breathtaking model details with great precision all the elements of the campsite, from the construction of the whale boat with carpentry tools to tent accommodation, eating utensils and weaponry.

The museum offers guided tours of the ‘Grange’, interpretive displays accounting  the life and times of Sturt and a series of media displays which capture the essence of Sturt’s expeditions.

The Popeye Motor Launches offer cruises up and down the Torrens Lake in the heart of the city of Adelaide. The cruise departs from the wharf in Elder Park in front of the Adelaide Festival Centre and travels along the lake to the Torrens Weir before turning around and travelling to the Adelaide Zoo before returning to the wharf. Situated on the sand belt at West Lakes, the West Lakes Golf Club provides a quality 18 hole golf course with excellent greens and is playable in all weather conditions. Many changes and improvements have been made over the years, including a redesign of the course completed early in 2002 resulting in a tight and challenging Par 70 layout of 5508 metres. Adelaide Central Gallery began in 1987 as an artist-run exhibition space and has evolved into one of Adelaide's most prominent contemporary non-profit galleries. Monthly changing exhibitions includes both emerging and established artists working in a wide range of media, including painting, drawing, prints, photography, sculpture, ceramics, glass, video and multimedia. There is a focus on emerging artists who are ACSA graduates or associated with ACSA as current or former art lecturers and solo and group exhibitions by leading national and occasional international artists. Exhibiting artists give informal lectures in the gallery on a regular basis. Guided tours and floor talks can be arranged by appointment for school or social groups of ten or more. There are adjoining studio and student galleries. The gallery is an exclusive representative in South Australia for the estate of artist Pro Hart and there is a stockroom of work by South Australian artists.

The Cathedral was started in 1869 and the first section was completed and opened fully for services in 1877. Photographs of the building of the Cathedral can be seen in the passage to the northern side of the Chancel. In the 1990s much restoration was started. The floor needed replacing; some tiles were retained and others made in England to match were used. The roof, of Welsh slate, had to be replaced again with Welsh slate. The pinnacles around the Lady Chapel have been removed until funds are available to repair the damage done over a century's exposure to the atmosphere. Restoration is a continuing activity in any building of this nature. St Peter's Cathedral is open to visitors from 9:30am to 4pm, Monday to Saturday. Free guided Tours are held every Wednesday at 11am, and every Sunday at 12.30pm; tours take about 45 minutes.
