The Samford District Historical Museum boasts a comprehensive collection of buildings of local significance and purpose built replicas. There's also an Aboriginal kippa-making ceremony diorama as well as displays featuring local rural industries, horse-drawn transport, Ferny Grove to Dayboro railway (1918 to 1955), education and domestic life. Groups, by prior arrangement, can be entertained with demonstrations of old-time working with timber skills, blacksmithing, olden day school and more. Researchers will be amazed at the reference collection of photographs, published local history books, newspaper cuttings, historical maps and other files covering Samford district's growth and changes since the mid 1850s to current times. The rustic and rural buildings also provide ideal settings for wedding photos.

The Pine Rivers Heritage Museum is set amongst the graceful landscape of Old Petrie Town, just to the north of Brisbane. Staff encourage visitors to explore the historic character of the Pine Rivers district through their permanent and ever-changing special displays. The Museum is fully air-conditioned and there is always something new to see as they seek to build one of the best regional museums in Queensland. An animated theatrette provides an entertaining overview of the development of Pine Rivers. Other displays include the Old Schoolroom, Yebri House, and supplying the Building Trade, while the stories of our explorers and early settlers provide colour and fascinating detail to their tale. One of their most significant displays is the Skyring Clocks, a collection of unique handmade 'skeleton' clocks which show their inside workings. Several times a year the Pine Rivers Heritage Museum creates or hosts new temporary exhibitions on a variety of themes.

In the heart of D’Aguilar National Park, England Creek Bush Camp is a picturesque spot to pitch a tent right alongside England Creek. A walk-in only bush camp off the Aquila Loop, you will have to carry all your essential items with you during the hike. Accommodating for up to nine people, the camp, like many others in the National Park, does not have any facilities meaning your pack should include a first-aid kit, water, rubbish bags, insect repellent and a portable stove. Discover north Brisbane’s railway history by cycling the tracks of the old Ferny Grove Line that once continued onto Dayboro, cutting through Camp Mountain to Samford. After a derailing disaster led to the trainline closing, the area was turned into the Samford Valley Rail Trail which today runs 8.3 kilometres starting from the Ferny Grove Railway Station. Cycle your way through Samford Forest, part of the ‘Mountains to Mangroves’ bushland corridor protecting wildlife, before coming out to rolling farmland around the base of Camp Mountain. Also through this section you will come across a memorial cairn marking the site of the 1946 railway disaster....
