The Workshops Rail Museum is an AUD20 million wholly interactive authentic heritage and cultural experience located at Australia's oldest operating railway workshop. Hands-on exhibits and multi-media encounters bring rail to life with modern displays, train simulators, real trains to climb aboard, the Nippers Railway kid zone and the largest model railway of Queensland. The Workshops Rail Museum also plays host to a range of exhibitions and exciting school holiday events throughout the year, including the annual "Day out with Thomas" event. Take a tour into Queensland Rail's active heritage workshops to see the gems of the State's heritage Steam Train fleet being restored and maintained. See sparks fly and feel the heat of the furnaces as you enter the largest industrial site in Australia open for public access. Enclosed footwear required. The Workshops Rail Museum is part of the Queensland Museum and winner of Australian and Queensland Tourism Awards for Heritage and Cultural Tourism.

Jets Leagues Club is a complete entertainment and gaming venue, housing Restaurant 18EightySeven which offers high quality dining in Ipswich. The Workshops Rail Museum is temporarily closed until further notice. The acclaimed, award-winning Museum should be on every Ipswich visitor's to-do list. Steeped in history - it was once the workplace of over 3000 railway workers and visitors enter via the historic Timekeepers' Building - it merges the romance of yesteryear with the exciting technological breakthroughs of the present. The old boilershop houses the museum where you're dwarfed by beautifully restored locomotives and carriages, and where kids and kids at heart will marvel at Queensland's largest model railway featuring detailed real-life scenes of the state. The interactive Nippers' Railway will keep youngsters enthralled for ages with activities such as driving a train and collecting tickets, and a popular exhibit for older ages is the Diesel Revolution where you take the controls of the diesel locomotive simulator. Museum heritage tours occur twice a day, and the place is packed during school holidays, with the popular Day out with Thomas program running during the winter school holidays. ...

Riverlink is Ipswich's main shopping centre, hosting major stores Target, Kmart, Woolworths, Coles and Aldi. Located on the banks of the Bremer River, Riverlink is a heritage site and a short walk to the city's Central Business District across a purpose built walk bridge.
