Cape Tribulation Jungle Surfing Canopy Tour

36923 - Cape Tribulation QLD 4873

The tour takes you into the beating heart of the Daintree Rainforest on a guided zipline experience through five tree platforms and the world's first Human Hamster Wheel cable lift. The platforms range in height from 7-16m above the ground and showcase every level of the rainforest canopy.  The ziplines are travelled in pairs except for one solo flight across a rainforest creek - upside down if you dare!  The final span is a side-by-side racing zipline with speeds of around 45km/h! The expert guides accompany you every step of the way so there's no experience necessary.  And throughout the tour, the guides tell the story of the world's oldest rainforest.

Highlights
• Spectacular views over the treetop and out to the reef
• The world’s first Human Hamster Wheel
• New side-by-side racing zipline
• Stories on every platform
• Incredible photo opportunities

On arrival at the harnessing centre, you’ll meet your team of guides who’ll be taking you ziplining through the jungle. Each guest will be fitted with a full body harness and helmet.

A 350m walk through the forest leads to the Departure Lounge, where you’ll be given a safety briefing before leaving the forest floor to be hoisted up to platform 1 by the Human Hamster Wheel Cable Lift.

On each platform, a guide will greet you, connect you safely to the tree, and tell you fascinating story of the Daintree Rainforest before sending you on your way to the next platform.

From Platform 1 – 4, you will travel in pairs a few metres apart. The guides control your gentle flight, leaving you free to take photographs or just admire the stunning views. Platform 3 is cantilevered off the hillside and gives you some amazing views of the Great Barrier Reef and canopy. Platform 3 to 4, you’ll stop briefly at the highest point of the tour, 20 metres above Mason Creek. If you visit during the green season, this creek will be a raging torrent of white water.

Platform 4 to 5, is the opportunity for thrill seekers to try something different, and if you choose to do so, you can flip yourself upside down and watch the ground beneath you speed past. Don’t forget to give us your best Tarzan cry!

Overlooking the hinterland of Queensland's Sunshine Coast, the Glass House Mountains offer a great introduction to abseiling (aka rappelling) for those wishing to add a little adventure to their day. With a guide, work your way up to abseiling on a 131-foot (40-meter) cliff face of Mt. Ngungun in Glass House Mountains National Park. Equipment is provided, and your professional guide will put you at ease and help you to complete this mental and physical challenge.

Meet your guide in the parking lot at Mt. Ngungun to begin your abseiling tour. Collect your allocated safety equipment, and walk in to the first site, where you'll be taken through a safety introduction prior to your first abseil. Typically, you'll be back at the car park by 2:30pm.

The guide-to-participant ration is kept small to ensure you get the most out of your experience in the Glass House Mountains.
