Daintree Rainforest Night Walk from Cape Tribulation Logo and Images

Daintree Rainforest Night Walk from Cape Tribulation

36883 - Cape Tribulation QLD 4873

Experience the majestic beauty of the Daintree Rainforest on a nighttime walking tour with an expert guide. Learn about the animals and plants of this ancient Australian forest as you walk along dirt trails and look for a variety of snakes, small mammals, insects, spiders and more. Enjoy the experience of spending time in one of the most complex rain forest ecosystems on earth with a knowledgeable guide. Even kiddos, ages eight and older, can join this small-group tour limited to 11 people.

Your tour starts with pickup from your Cape Tribulation hotel or a central location in town. Travel in a comfortable minivan shuttle to a swathe of privately owned land in the Daintree Rainforest to meet your guide.

Receive a safety briefing and flashlight before you set off with your guide into the ancient rain forest. Throughout your tour, your guide shares extensive knowledge of the animal and plant life in this biologically rich forest, which has remained much the same for more than 120 million years. With the trained eyes of your guide, you get to see much more than you would on your own. Feel free to ask any questions that you may have.

Each night the cast of critters varies, however spiders, sleeping birds and rainforest dragons make frequent appearances. You may also see amethystine pythons, Australia’s largest snake, slithering around. (They're hard to miss at 27-feet-long).

Your guide may ask you to switch off your flashlight in order to see the blinking light of fireflies and glowing lichens.

At the end of your tour, you are returned to your Cape Tribulation hotel.

Please note: Expect to walk along natural trails over uneven ground; a moderate level of fitness and comfortable walking shoes are recommended. The tour is suitable for children eight years old and up.

transparent kayak & follow your guide on a tour of the Wrecks, watching an array of fish swim underneath your kayak. (*4WD island tour will be substituted if weather conditions are unfavorable for the activities). Refuel with a picnic lunch on the beach, then swap the sea for the sand as you travel with an experienced guide in a rugged 4WD-vehicle to reach the sand dunes. Try sandboarding and reach speeds of up to 30mph while zipping down the dunes! Go for a swim before reboarding the ferry if time allows. Check into your room in Brisbane in the evening. (

Hang on as your 4WD vehicle bounces over the white sands of 75 Mile Beach for a stop to swim at Eli Creek. Strong swimmers can wade upstream to float back down to the beach on the creek’s gentle current. Your guide serves a tasty picnic lunch at midday. Hike along the rocky coast at Indian Head that boasts great views over the ocean. You may glimpse sharks, turtles, dolphins, rays & even migrating humpback whales (Jul-Nov). Continue by 4WD to see Maheno Shipwreck. Also see Wanggoolba Creek where the clear water seems to disappear as it flows over white sand. Cape Tribulation Jungle Surfing Canopy Tour Logo and Images

Cape Tribulation Jungle Surfing Canopy Tour

36923 - Cape Tribulation QLD 4873

The tour takes you into the beating heart of the Daintree Rainforest on a guided zipline experience through five tree platforms and the world's first Human Hamster Wheel cable lift. The platforms range in height from 7-16m above the ground and showcase every level of the rainforest canopy.  The ziplines are travelled in pairs except for one solo flight across a rainforest creek - upside down if you dare!  The final span is a side-by-side racing zipline with speeds of around 45km/h! The expert guides accompany you every step of the way so there's no experience necessary.  And throughout the tour, the guides tell the story of the world's oldest rainforest.

Highlights
• Spectacular views over the treetop and out to the reef
• The world’s first Human Hamster Wheel
• New side-by-side racing zipline
• Stories on every platform
• Incredible photo opportunities

On arrival at the harnessing centre, you’ll meet your team of guides who’ll be taking you ziplining through the jungle. Each guest will be fitted with a full body harness and helmet.

A 350m walk through the forest leads to the Departure Lounge, where you’ll be given a safety briefing before leaving the forest floor to be hoisted up to platform 1 by the Human Hamster Wheel Cable Lift.

On each platform, a guide will greet you, connect you safely to the tree, and tell you fascinating story of the Daintree Rainforest before sending you on your way to the next platform.

From Platform 1 – 4, you will travel in pairs a few metres apart. The guides control your gentle flight, leaving you free to take photographs or just admire the stunning views. Platform 3 is cantilevered off the hillside and gives you some amazing views of the Great Barrier Reef and canopy. Platform 3 to 4, you’ll stop briefly at the highest point of the tour, 20 metres above Mason Creek. If you visit during the green season, this creek will be a raging torrent of white water.

Platform 4 to 5, is the opportunity for thrill seekers to try something different, and if you choose to do so, you can flip yourself upside down and watch the ground beneath you speed past. Don’t forget to give us your best Tarzan cry!

The final span to the ground features side-by-side racing ziplines with speeds over 45km/h! Or there’s an option to take it slowly!

Then you have a short walk back to the harnessing centre where you'll be taken back to the Jungle Adventure Centre to view your photos and then on to your Cape Tribulation accommodation if you’re staying in the local area.

Glass House Mountains Abseiling Experience Logo and Images

Glass House Mountains Abseiling Experience

36973 - Brisbane QLD 4001

Overlooking the hinterland of Queensland's Sunshine Coast, the Glass House Mountains offer a great introduction to abseiling (aka rappelling) for those wishing to add a little adventure to their day. With a guide, work your way up to abseiling on a 131-foot (40-meter) cliff face of Mt. Ngungun in Glass House Mountains National Park. Equipment is provided, and your professional guide will put you at ease and help you to complete this mental and physical challenge.

Meet your guide in the parking lot at Mt. Ngungun to begin your abseiling tour. Collect your allocated safety equipment, and walk in to the first site, where you'll be taken through a safety introduction prior to your first abseil. Once everyone is familiar with the equipment, start your abseils; the final rappel of the day is usually a 40-meter drop down sheer cliffs, from which you will walk back to the meeting point with your group. Typically, you'll be back at the car park by 2:30pm.

The guide-to-participant ration is kept small to ensure you get the most out of your experience in the Glass House Mountains. Designed for anyone with a sense of adventure or a love of the outdoors, this activity gives you the opportunity to be challenged and soak up the natural environment of the eucalyptus forest. The Mt. Ngungun summit boasts a 360-degree view of the national park, including three other nearby mountains.
