FOOD AND WINE STANTHORPE

The Stanthorpe Apple and Grape Harvest Festival (official organisation name: Stanthorpe Festival Association Inc.) is one of Queensland’s longest running and most successful Festivals! Voted Queensland in the top 10 favourite Iconic Event/Festival during the Queensland Q150 Celebrations, the Festival is a “must do” on the Queensland events calendar. The biennial festival is a celebration of the Granite Belt region’s produce and booming wine industry. An average of over 70,000 people attend the festival and this is arguably Australia’s leading harvest festival having a successful track record spanning five decades. It’s in Stanthorpe, heart of the Granite Belt Wine Region, on the New England Highway just north of the New South Wales border. Stanthorpe is less than three hours drive from Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Byron, Armidale, Dalby and Goondiwindi, a bit more from the Sunshine Coast, two hours from Lismore and the Northern Rivers, and a comfortable one and a half hours from Toowoomba. ‘Something for everyone’! With the districts successful wine, tourism, produce and horticulture industries, the potential crowd attraction of this Festival is significant and growing....

Join them at the Granite Belt’s premier free art event! Discover a variety of local artists at GBART 2020. The Granite Belt Art and Craft Trail program encourages visitors to gallery hop their way around the Granite Belt. You can enrol in a class; you can watch a demonstration and you can get in and have a go Gallery and workshop spaces range from artisans in residence at their private studios to artisan collectives in some of the region’s best wineries and award winning cafes. It is a great opportunity to get behind the scenes of creativity and be engaged in art yourself. Inspired by the Small Halls Festival, they’ve also invited their beautiful small local community halls to join in the fun....

The Stanthorpe Regional Art Gallery runs the Stanthorpe Art Prize every two years. There are AUD50,000 in prizes across 11 categories. Entries for the art prize are open to Australian artists. The finalists exhibition will be open for public viewing from 19 February to 18 April 2021. The exhibition was postponed due to COVID-19....

This event comprises the 2021 Australian Campdraft Association National Finals Campdraft that takes place in a different country town each year. In 2021 it's Stanthorpe's turn. They will host this iconic event at the newly created Stockman's Arena at Stanthorpe Showgrounds and showcase the Granite Belt part of southern Queensland to their campdrafting visitors....
