Love Tilly Devine Logo and Images

Love Tilly Devine

91 Crown Lane, Darlinghurst NSW 2010

First and foremost love, tilly devine is a place to relax and engage in conversation or contemplation. It is not a place to go buck wild. Sydney has enough of those. It is a place to take a good friend or a prospective lover.
A place where you do not need to shout to be heard.

We have some fairly strong views on wine. Basically we think that wine should express the grapes from which it was made and the place where those grapes were grown. That means it should taste like fruit and herbs and flowers and minerals- not oak or alcohol. Even more important is that it should have balance.

Coco Cubano - Darlinghurst

191 Oxford Street, Darlinghurst NSW 2010

It's not hard to understand why Coco Cubano's creators Tony and Avril Melhem fell in love with Latin America's most electric and unique nation. The secret was in capturing what makes Cuba's culture, coffee, rum, cocktails and cigars so unique, and bringing this experience to Australia. Today, they help reveal the culture that spawned salsa and mambo, psychedelic Che Guevara posters, Bacardi and Havana Club rum, and Cohiba cigars.

Q Bar Logo and Images

Q Bar

34-44 Oxford Street, Darlinghurst NSW 2010

Q Sydney opened its doors in November of 1993 and has been party central ever since. From day one it has found a place in the hearts and minds of Sydney club goers. With a philosophy of being a venue that caters to everybody from the fun loving patron through to the ultra celebrity, it has managed to maintain a consistency normally unheard of in the life span of clubs. The concept of Q was to step away from a dedicated style and provide an alternative for people looking for a place to meet, talk, dance, have a drink, play a game of pinball or pool or more generally just to have fun. Many have commented on how comfortable they feel in the venue, which means that Q has hit its mark. In an environment of other venues throwing millions of dollars at development, Q has maintained a very bohemian feel which translates back to its original philosophy.

Cafe Lounge Logo and Images

Cafe Lounge

277 Goulburn Street, Darlinghurst NSW 2010

Step beyond the brightly painted entrance and into this homely courtyard setting, where urban funksters lounge and laze, with chilled beers at their fingertips.

Reminiscent of a South American hostel, Cafe Lounge's rustic vibe is spiced with a touch of inner-city Sydney class. Bright blue and orange rendered walls leap out at you and the mood is always chilled and easygoing. Old-school upholstery and nick-nacks help this little bar escape the sterile, ultra-mod feel that seems to afflict many others in the area.

Inside, the space oozes a warm jazz-club feel, complemented by a retro organ and DJ decks, a cocktail bar awash with red light and the odd work of art. Greenery and decking give the open courtyard a backyard feel, and the laidback table service is hospitable.

The crowd is trendy but unpretentious; modest and covertly well-to-do. Everyone seems to adopt a slow and easy approach - kicking back, hanging out and soaking up the background beats.

Doctor Pong Logo and Images

Doctor Pong

1a Burton Street, Darlinghurst NSW 2010

Modelled after the Berlin bar of the same name, the concept of beer and ping-pong is sure to prove a winner among Sydney-siders.

Sydney's oh-so-trendy Burton Street has again added to its expanding treasure-trove of quirky watering holes and welcomes Doctor Pong to the table - but not just any old table. This soon becomes clear as you near the modest Burton Street entrance and step inside, only to find yourself greeted by an impressive blue ping-pong table (thankfully, the "Pong" reference has nothing to do with the aroma of the kitchen fare).

The cute handwritten coasters, black leather chesterfields, DJ decks and retro ping-pong table centrepiece all work together to ensure that the surprisingly spacious concrete surrounds are still packed with a whole lot of character. And the philosophy at Doctor Pong is beaut: just "beer, beats and ping-pong".

Three bars offer an array of bottled bevvies and local wines. The expert bar staff are also equipped to satisfy any cocktail fancier's whim, and with so many of them flaunting mysterious accents, you may well feel like you have landed yourself at some far-off Caribbean beachfront bar

Rise

evin Seo was born in Busan, a city surrounded by Oceans and famous for fresh seafood, in South Korea and then immigrated to Australia in 1995.

After attending high school here, he enters the world of Japanese Cuisine at the age of only 16 as an apprentice at 'Masuya' Japanese restaurant in Sydney where he starts off as a dishwasher and eventually gains his status as a chef.  Despite the busy and strictly disciplined working environment, his passion for cooking and good food grew bigger.

After accomplishing his apprenticeship, he joined the 'Musashi' Dining Bar in Sydney as a chef de Partie in charge of the Sushi bar as well as kitchen, which gradually built up his cooking and leadership skills.

Kevin then moved to Sydney's renowned Japanese restaurant 'Yoshii' as a sous chef, where he meets his mentor Yoshii who is well known as one of the best sushi chefs in Australia.

IL Vicoletto

89 Crown St, Darlinghurst NSW 2010

Il Vicoletto is a traditional Italian restaurant situated in trendy Darlinghurst, a stone's throw from Sydney's CBD, Kings Cross, Taylor Square and Woolloomooloo.

In Italian, Il Vicoletto means a small alley or lane, referring to the historical cities of Italy where the streets are very narrow and abundant with street cafés, bistros and restaurants.

The restaurant, a family-run business owned by Jenny and Luciano Capraro, was opened in April 2003.

Luciano, originally from Latina (situated in central Italy near Rome), is a great chef with an experience of 40 years in catering and entertainment, previously owned Il Puntino, another Italian restaurant nearby. Because this restaurant was medium-sized, seating around 50 people, the opening of a new, larger dining venue became a necessity and so was born Il Vicoletto!
