Ben Ricketts is within easy reach of Kiama, Carrington Falls, Minamurra Rainforest, Illawarra Fly and Jamberoo Recreation Park. Be woken up by lyrebirds and spend the day enjoying the rainforest, creeks, glades and open paddocks. Ben Ricketts is home to echidnas, wombats, swamp wallabies, greater gliders and a great variety of birds. Listen to the lyrebirds, bowerbirds, catbirds, whipbirds, kookaburras and sugar gliders. Children are welcome, with plenty of open space for them to play and lots of nature to discover. There are marked walking trails on the property that start close to the cabins. Linen is available at an extra charge. Pets are not permitted to stay in the cabins.

The Historical Aircraft Restoration Society Aviation Museum (HARS) holds open days showing off some of the unique aircraft held at its headquarters at the Illawarra Regional Airport at Albion Park. HARS is now home to the 747-438 "Longreach" Qantas Passenger Jet, which will be part of the permanent static display at the museum. The open days will be held outside the HARS hangars and will involve the static display of some its distinctive aircraft.
