The Boathouse cottage is located in scenic Desolation Bay, in the far south of Tasmania. Situated on ten acres, at 589 Esperance Coast Road, it boasts two acres of parkland and absolute water frontage, mooring in the bay, a nearby boat launching ramp and spectacular views. There is a wilderness walk, unique grotto, rock formations, private rainforest with tall manferns and a babbling brook to explore.
The Boathouse accommodates two people in a double bed plus a double futon. It is equipped for self-catering with light kitchen facilities including refrigerator, microwave, electric frypan, kettle, toaster, barbecue, electric heating, reverse-cycle air conditioner, electric blankets, television, DVD player, clock-radio, hair dryer and much more.
Conveniently located halfway between Geeveston and Dover, just before Police Point, it is only a one-hour drive south of Hobart (80 km) along the scenic Esperance Coast Road. It is an ideal base to visit the spectacular Tahune Forest Airwalk, Hartz Mountain National Park, South West Wilderness, Hastings Caves and Thermal Pool, Ida Bay Railway to name just a few of the many attractions this region offers.
