Buderim Falls is a 45 hectare haven of tranquillity less than a kilometre from the north side of Buderim village on the Sunshine Coast ?just 15 minutes from the coast. With its towering trees, meandering tracks and stunning waterfall, this sub-tropical oasis is a paradise for nature lovers and photographers alike. Also known as Serenity Falls, it?s a wonderful place to visit at any time of year, and looks particularly spectacular after rainfall when the waters cascade down the rock face into the waterhole below. The 600 m walkway from Lindsay Road will take you on a picturesque forest ramble along the banks of Martins Creek?s cascading waters. This is the easiest part of the walk and is wheelchair friendly. From the end of the boardwalk you can continue upwards through the bush via a rugged trail to the waterfall. For direct access to the waterfall and the high arch bridge spanning the creek, start at Quorn Close ? it?s an easy to moderate hike to the falls via a bush track. The Quorn close entry to the reserve is not suitable for wheelchairs or strollers....

The original Landsborough Shire Council Chambers were designed in 1924 by renowned architect Walter Carey Voller and built from local timbers by A.E. Round in 1988 using funding from the Bicentenary. The old building was revamped and a new building of mud brick construction was added. The complex was re-opened on Australia Day 1988, by J.L. Beausang last chairman of Landsborough Shire and first mayor of Caloundra City as the Landsborough Museum. At its meeting on 25 June 1999, the Heritage Council resolved to enter the 'former Landsborough Shire Council Chambers' in the Queensland Heritage Register. Its mission is to collect, research, conserve, interpret and exhibit the artefacts, memorabilia, documents, photographs and stories of indigenous and non-indigenous peoples whose heritage can be linked to that region, known in the year 2000, as Caloundra City....

Bordered on one side by the beautiful Mooloolah River National Park, and on the other by the Maroochy Bushland Botanic Gardens, Sippy Downs on the Sunshine Coast is best known for the system of picture-postcard lakes that pepper the area. These beautiful, tranquil lakes can be enjoyed from various waterfront parks and picnic areas and can be accessed by numerous walk and bike paths. The National Park on the eastern side of Sippy Downs preserves one of the last remnants of unspoilt coastal lowlands in southern Queensland. The Botanic Gardens on the western side of Sippy Downs features rock pool, wetlands, fern glades, sculpture gardens and a wonderful array of flora and fauna including the whipbird and fairy wren. Just 10 minutes? drive west of Sippy Downs is the bustling seaside hot-spot of Mooloolaba. Sippy Downs is three minutes off the Bruce Highway and is home to the University of the Sunshine Coast. Apart from the formal study programmes, Chenrezig Institute is a peaceful, calm and relaxing place to spend a few hours, days or weeks. Maroochydore Cricket Club hosts the Brisbane Heat and the Hobart Hurricanes in two Big Bash League Practice Matches in the first ever KFC Sunshine Coast Smash. Game One is Brisbane Heat versus Hobart Hurricanes on Friday, 16 December. Game Two is Brisbane Heat versus Hobart Hurricanes on Saturday, 17 December. Gates Open at 11:30am with both games starting at 1pm. This free event will see world class T20 action come to the Sunshine Coast in a first for the region. Both the Heat and Hurricanes are likely to have their full squad complement of players to draw on as they finalise their KFC T20 Big Bash League preparations, meaning international superstars like Brendon McCullum (Heat) and Kumar Sangakkara (Hurricanes) will be on show along with the likes of big-hitting Brisbane Heat stars Chris Lynn and Ben Cutting, plus Hurricanes' dynamos Tim Paine and George Bailey. Perched high on the red, fertile soil of Buderim Mountain above the Sunshine Coast, Buderim might be small, but no town or city in the state can match it for vibrant colour. The colour flows from the bougainvillea, poinciana, frangipani and hibiscus, which adorn just about every garden in town. Although the area?s prosperity has been built on timber, sugar, citrus, coffee and bananas, the name of modern Buderim is synonymous with ginger, which is marketed directly in every conceivable form. You can taste the fruits of the good earth at the markets or many of the local culinery establishments. The link to the timber industry is preserved in the faithfully restored cottage built from hewn cedar and beech by pioneer John Kerle Bennett in 1876. The hinterland in which Buderim is set is sprinkled with a number of parks and reserves, which give the visitor a glimpse of the original vegetation in the area. The parkland within the area includes Mooloolah River National Park, where the wallum heathland bursts into a riot of colour in spring, Buderim Forest Park, with its signature waterfalls and boardwalk, and the beautiful Foote Sanctuary. ...

Mooloolah is located off the Steve Irwin Way (formerly Glass House Mountains Tourist Drive) via Mooloolah Connection Road with neighbouring communities of Glenview and Palmview being located just off the M1. Mooloolah is aboriginal for 'black snake'. It is a peaceful, rural town with a variety of things to do. You can grab a pint at the Ettamogah Pub, a restaurant and bar in an oddly proportioned architectural building, which is a popular focal point for photographs. The Pub is situated on the M1 at Palmview. Behind the Pub is a theme park based on a fairground concept called Aussie World. Still looking for something to do, go horseback riding at the Mooloolah Valley Riding Centre, an Aussie dude ranch. The ranch also has some cute accommodation options.
