The Art of Richard Stanley, Studio and Gallery are located in Cygnet, Southern Tasmania. The Art Gallery resides in one of the first general stores in Cygnet, circa. 1905. A vast open space with high ceilings gives room for large canvases and drawings, artworks and glass jewellery. Meet Richard Stanley, resident artist and talk about his work. Listen to ambient music as you peruse his paintings and limited edition prints. The Gallery is located in a beautiful rural setting with mountain and river views. Richard offers a unique experience to art and craft lovers. All work is Tasmanian produced with the majority being made on the premises by Richard himself. Works include original oil and pastel paintings, limited edition framed and unframed prints, cards and bookmarks. Artworks are based on landscapes in Tasmania with emphasis on the South. Richard also produces dichroic glass jewellery in pendant, hanging earring, stud earring and brooch form which sells in his gallery. The world's first Sheep Whey Distillery. Hartshorn Distillery is a new Tasmanian micro distillery making boutique batches of Vodka and Gin from our own sheep whey. We are the first in the world to create this unique product. We are proud to be the smallest distillery in Australia making small ten-bottle batches using a 50 litre glass column still. Each bottle and label is hand painted by head distiller Ryan, so you can display it proudly amongst your collection. Ryan and his family run Grandvewe Cheeses in Birchs Bay, located deep in Tasmania's south. When making cheese, the whey is often discarded and put to little use. Ryan has spent the last two years discovering how to turn the complex sugars held within the whey protein and convert them into a basic sugars to then ferment into alcohol and eventually distil. The resulting distillate has a delicately sweet bouquet and extremely smooth finish, thanks to the dairy influence and complex filtering methods....

It is located on hills overlooking the D?Entrecasteaux Channel, a 30-minute drive south of Hobart (34 km). We offer two free-standing, self-contained cottages ? the Studio and the Wine Loft cottages. The Studio is best-suited for a couple (a single bed can be set up for a child), with its bedroom raised from the open-plan living and kitchen area. The Wine Loft is up a flight of steps and has two bedrooms, each with a queen bed. The main bedroom also has a single bed and a further single can easily be set up. Both cottages are spotless, spacious, sunny, warm and private and have rural and sea-views. They have wood-fired heating, which provide warmth and a cosy ambience. Breakfast provisions can be provided for an additional cost. The hosts pride themselves on warm, friendly and personal service and go out of their way to provide useful information.
