Barossa Daimler Tours offer private, personally tailored tours of the highest quality with passionate wine guide, John Baldwin. John pioneered private touring in The Barossa in 1994, is well known for his humour, and he loves to share his knowledge and close relationships with the wine industry, with all who tour with him. You'll have the rare opportunity to tour in a classic 1962 Daimler which can seat up to eight passengers, and was brought to Australia in the sixties for Royal Tours. All tours are tailored to suit your individual wine tastes and can include famous, iconic wineries or smaller family-owned boutique gems. You can be a keen beginner or a wine connoisseur! Sumptuous lunches, afternoon tea and entertaining commentary on the history, architecture, culture, terroir and art of winemaking are included in all tours. You can also include cheese and produce tastings, galleries, keg factories, town walks, as all tours are exclusive to one party ensuring flexibility is at a premium. Adelaide pickups, tours to McLaren Vale, Clare Valley and the Adelaide Hills are available in a modern seven seat Mercedes, which is also a touring option in The Barossa. Roseworthy Railway is a volunteer, non-profit group dedicated to miniature rail and model engineering. The Roseworthy Railway has 1.2 kilometres of 7-1/4 inch gauge track located in the grounds of the Roseworthy Campus of the University of Adelaide. Come and enjoy a train ride with the Roseworthy Railway Club on the third Sunday of the month from 12.30pm to 4.30pm (April to October), and on the third Saturday of the month from 6pm to 10pm (November to March). Entry into the grounds is free, and the train ride is a mere AUD2.50 per person. We can also cater for birthday parties and functions. Limited cooking facilities are available.
