The area was a village in its own right with over 3,500 (the population of Charleville today) United States Servicemen serving in the area.
Many of the sites have been uncovered and you can join in for a guided tour everyday. You will need your own car (high clearance vehicle preferably) for this experience and a small fee will apply. Bookings are essential and can be made at the Charleville Visitor Information Centre.
