At Healesville Glass Blowing Studio you have the opportunity to make your own paperweight and experience the unique art of making an object out of molten glass at temperatures of up to 1000 degrees Celsius. Watch the process so that you can see a paperweight being made from start to finish. Then, with a little help, you will add colour to the glass, stretch and bend it to mix in the colours, before shaping it into your own paperweight. It only takes around 10-15 mins to make a paperweight, which then needs to cool down slowly overnight, this is called annealing and without it the glass will break. No experience is required and all materials are provided. Minimum age for participation is 15 years....

Bring your own little Joeys to Wallaby Wednesdays at Healesville Sanctuary. Your little ones will love dressing up as wallabies with wallaby face painting, wallaby ears and wallaby tails for pouch races, hopping games and wallaby trails. Bring your favourite soft toy animal to join in the fun. Wallaby tails and wallaby ears are provided for dress up fun. Wallaby warm ups for your long tails and your bouncy legs will prepare you for our pouch races and hopping games. Your little joeys will love the locals with special guest appearances by Healesville Sanctuary's feathered, scaly and furry friends....

These women are identical twins and produce beautiful and original harmonies in the folk/jazz/gipsy genres. Their on stage act is heart warming, heart breaking and sometimes very funny....

Come and enjoy a heritage railway ride from Healesville Station through the beautiful Yarra Valley to the 150 metre long brick tunnel on the Yarra Valley Railway. Bring your family on the 40 minute return trip. The kids will love the ride with a tunnel, stunning mountain views and possible kangaroos along the way. Before and after your trip you can relax in front of the fire with a cappuccino, while the kids enjoy themselves on the extensive children's adventure play ground at the front of the station. Group bookings involve a minimum cost and should be made in advance. One ride can cater for a maximum of 40 passengers. For groups with more than 40 passengers, two trips can be made. The new cafe, YV Refreshments, has the best coffee, lunches and desserts in Healesville. Special events include the Heritage Festival in September and the Ghost Train in October. The Healesville Music Festival is a family friendly event held in the beautiful township of Healesville, nestled just 70 kilometres from Melbourne in the world famous Yarra Valley. The festival, which is now in its seventh year, will be run over three days on the 11th, 12th and 13th of November. With a line-up which includes an international act, several major national acts, the cream of local talent and some up and coming young artists, there will be something to please most tastes. With multiple venues, there will be non-stop music throughout the weekend. Also, in accordance with the festival's commitment to involve the whole community in the festival, there will be lots of street performances and free entry sessions. For the first time this year, camping will be available at the festival. Thanks to the support of the Healesville Amateur Racing Club, camping will be at the picturesque Healesville Racecourse.
