Over the last thirty-five years, she has worked extensively as a freelance commercial photographer and voluntarily in cultural development positions for Lesbian and Gay community groups.
She attempted to create images that engaged in an erotic dialogue reconstructing a visual narrative, and have followed the battles, rallies, sorrow, resilience and diversity of the queer community. This exhibition will explore the archival and documentary-style photography, endeavouring to celebrate all things queer....
?A Chain of Events? celebrates the continuing persistence and dedication of artists and the creative process. It brings together both contemporary jewellery artists and others working in different mediums. Focussing on NSW creatives, this exhibition invites artists to explore the concept of the chain as a personal metaphor. The chain, an element often used in jewellery has many symbolic references: a system of links used to contain, restrict or protect, a bond, a series of elements, events, reactions.
Recent dispiriting events in the NSW arts sector, in particular, the defunding of tertiary arts programmes especially in jewellery and funding cuts to fundamental arts organisations, have been felt keenly by the local arts community. Rather than succumb to gloom, ?A Chain of Events? has been conceived by Bridget Kennedy in order to inspire a new energy and start a fresh chain of inspiration....
Beyond 'The Girl from Ipanema', Anna with her honey-smooth voice takes you on a deeper journey into the heart of Brazilian music, drawing on the love and respect she developed for the genre while playing with musicians and elders in Rio de Janeiro. Anna presents an intoxicating brew of seductive bossa novas, irresistible sambas, swinging jazz, enchanting ballads and much more. Bold beats, beauty, irreverence and joy - this is a charming and exotic night of passion, music and fun not to be missed. With a reputation as one of Sydney's finest exponents of Brazilian jazz, Anna performs nationally and has also graced the international stage, from The Edinburgh Festival to Rio and Kuala Lumpur. On this, the occasion of her final performance for 2016, Anna will present her show 'In Concert' with her wonderful quartet in the beautiful old sandstone Sth Sydney Uniting Church in Waterloo....

Jewellery designers Bridget Kennedy and Melanie Ihnen both work from the studio, creating artist multiples, commissions and exhibition work.
