Triabunna is located at the gateway to beautiful Maria Island and the Mercury Passage, and is a former garrison town for convicts in the early colonial days of Tasmania. The area combines history, magnificent scenery, beaches, great fishing spots, walking tracks, and fine food and wine. Maria Island National Park offers great bushwalking, scuba diving, and abundant wildlife. There are 30 ensuite rooms accommodating 75 guests. Rooms have reverse cycle heat pumps, hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities, internet access and ironing equipment, some rooms have queen size beds. Maria Island Ferry and Eco Cruises

Maria Island Ferry and Eco Cruises provide tour services around Maria Island, in Tasmania's East. Maria Island is a wildlife sanctuary within a superb National Park. It boasts an eclectic mix of World Heritage convict history, wilderness, pristine beaches, a protected marine reserve, and a bonus of sharing the island with its wildlife. This is a bird watcher's paradise, with over 120 species to find. You have many options to explore Maria Island, with various levels of walking and mountain bike riding ranging from easy to challenging, and short to overnight. Consider staying overnight and enjoy the early mornings and the peaceful evenings. The Maria Island Ferry travels daily between December and April. You can also join us on a Cruise and Walk package to view the majestic coastline including the Fossil Cliffs, Mount Bishop and Clerk and the Painted Cliffs, then step ashore to see it up close. We have mountain bikes for hire and can organise a lunch pack for you so you can enjoy an even bigger taste of Maria Island. Triabunna is a 75-minute (84 kilometre / 52 mile) drive North-East of Hobart, and then Maria Island is a 30-minute ferry trip from Triabunna....

Maria Island is an expanse of brilliant wilderness, pristine beaches, protected marine habitats, mountain views, and world heritage convict history. East Coast Cruises began touring Maria Island in 2006. Our dedicated staff have worked hard to develop cruise tourism for Maria Island and the township of Triabunna and are proud to showcase their home region to you. Our team operates the vessel M.V 'Spirit of Maria', a custom built cruise and tour vessel, providing twin deck viewing for Maria's enthralling marine life, unique cliff formations and giant sea caves. The Spirit of Maria is the only vessel operating to Maria Island that can cruise to the Ile des Phoques seal colony, explore inside giant sea caves and circumnavigate Maria Island. East Coast Cruises offer two distinctly different tours. Tour 1 takes you cruising to the Ile Des Phoques, a famous seal colony on Tasmania's East Coast. Tour 2 circumnavigates the coastline of Maria Island. Each cruise is approximately four hours, with one-hour buffet lunch at anchor. After your cruise, the tour docks at Darlington for a two-hour stay on Maria Island. Here you will enjoy a 45-minute guided walk of the Darlington convict settlement history and heritage....
