Be guided through this heritage gold mining precinct hidden deep in the Copeland rainforest that is now protected by NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service. Volunteers from Gloucester Visitor Information Centre conduct guided tours of the historic Mountain Maid gold mine on Sundays and Wednesdays for a minimum of four people. The discovery of gold at Copeland in 1872 led to a gold rush and remnants of the old mine and mining equipment can be touched on this fascinating guided tour.
