Platform 1 Heritage Farm Railway at Littlehampton features a train ride, farm animals and railway memorabilia, just 10 minutes from Hahndorf. Travel by train through and past a historic farmyard and out into the open paddocks. Kids will love the one kilometre train ride and adults will enjoy the history of this farm that has been owned by six generations. Meet and feed Captain the horse, Alice and Henry the pigs and Miss Moo the cow and interact with the other farm animals. Play on the railway displays, dress up and be a train driver, signalman or play on the giant trains and tunnels game. Homemade scones with homemade jam and fresh cream are a delight as you relax in the century old barn. Train and farmyard toys and gifts are available and a visit is not complete without enjoying a few of the popular train chocolates. School groups, vacation care and playgroups find Platform 1 a great day out and the educational Paddock to Plate programme is very popular. Senior groups can relive years gone by with a history tour. Auchendarroch House is a magnificent 1800s mansion, which has been lovingly restored and now provides a functional entertainment venue along with the Wallis Tavern and the seven screen Mount Barker Cinema Complex, located 30 minutes from the Adelaide central business district. The Wallis Tavern Bistro has an extensive menu featuring modern Australian cuisine, serving lunch and dinner seven days a week with seating for 200 guests. They provide restaurant quality food at realistic prices and offer full table service in an a la carte bistro. The bistro's wall of glass overlooks their award winning gardens, relaxing by day and stunning by night. The Prancing Pony Brewery is a boutique craft brewery with a unique point of difference; 'We Fire Brew' Based in Mount Barker in the Adelaide Hills, we create beautifully crafted beers with amazing malt and hop flavours. Visitors to the Brewshed can sample and buy the full range of beers, including Blonde Ale, Amber Ale, Pale Ale and Black Ale. With a licensed Cellar Door, groups of up to 25 can book a tour with the head brewer to learn about beers making, flavours and beer history. For smaller groups a private room is available and children are welcome. Tour bookings are essential. On weekends, we serve light meals including buttered Brezeln, regional tasting platters and with a barista on site, coffee/tea and sweets are on offer for non-beer drinkers. Prancing Pony Brewery's is open seven days a week from 10am to 6pm and we regularly participate and host events. Mount Barker is the ideal course for golfers of all abilities and just 20 minutes drive from Adelaide. Measuring 5,593 metres, the 18 hole course has a par 70 rating, offering a comfortable, easy walk with gentle undulations, lush fairways and excellent greens. Old gum trees line the course, while the strategically placed ponds and creeks provide an interesting challenge. After a round, take advantage of the licensed clubhouse with full bar service and great value meals. There is also a fully equipped pro shop with a resident professional on hand for any of your golfing needs, as well as practice facilities.
