Fortunately the locals fell in love with the eccentric comedy and intimate atmosphere and soon the venue became known for the long quse that would stretch to the end of the block. Eventually the cramped little venue was re furbished and became another Newman creation, The Comedy Clinic. The current location between Jupiters Casino and Pacific Fair shopping center, is a Gold Coast Landmark. A fully operational Ghost Train now takes customers into the theatre. In 2004 Dracula's Gold Coast was awarded the Telstra AMP Australian small business of the year. This year we celebrate 21 years of non-stop performances.

The mine is open from Wednesday to Sunday from 8.30 to 3.30pm, every day during Queensland Public School Holidays and all public holidays except Christmas Day and Good Friday. The admission price includes a mining permit, a pick, shovel, and a bucket to hold the treasure.

The ropes course offers a range of challenges from relatively easy to very strenuous. Choose your challenge and enjoy hours of high adventure. Hang on to the ropes and take a flying fox ride through towering eucalyptus trees, crawl through tunnels, play action movie jungle games and tumble through the air. Villanova Players was formed in 1948, and has been producing plays and nurturing the theatrical talents of the people of Brisbane for over sixty years.

In the early years, the group performed in St James\\\\'s Hall at Coorparoo, Brisbane. Performances were also mounted in the Albert Hall in the city, where the Suncorp building is now.

With the rebuilding of the hall, we moved to the recently vacated St Luke\\\\'s school building in Taylor St Buranda, Brisbane, and converted the ground floor into a 120 seat theatre with a well equipped stage.

In late 2000, we moved our productions to the McElligott Theatre in St Lawrence’s College, South Brisbane.

Since the start of 2004, we have been performing our major productions in the theatre at the Morningside Campus of the Southbank Institute of TAFE, Clearview Terrace, Morningside, and the Hanrahan Theatre, at Villanova College, Coorparoo.

Just a short walk from Roma Street Station, Normanby Busway Station, Caxton Street, Normanby Hotel and Roma street Parklands is the Brisbane Arts Theatre, a 151 seat, Air Conditioned auditorium with a licensed bar and comfortable outdoor courtyard available for functions.

Zen Zen Zo is a Brisbane-based physical theatre ensemble at the forefront of contemporary performance and training in Australia. The Boutique Twelfth Night Theatre is located in the leafy inner Brisbane suburb of Bowen Hills.

Since 1988, Twelfth Night Theatre is owned by Gail Wiltshire.  It has the distinction of being the only privately owned theatre in Australia.  Neither the theatre nor its productions receive any form of Government subsidy.

It was built by the community in 1969.   Twelfth Night Theatre stands on land donated by Majorie and Brian Johnstone.  In 1980, the Queensland Government of the time sold the theatre into private ownership and it is because of the support of the people of Brisbane that it stands today; a gracious and welcoming theatre presenting popular productions, some of which are listed on the 'Best of British Comedy' page.

The StageDoor Dinner Theatre was officially opened on July 17th 2002 by Judy Cornwall (Daisy from "Keeping Up Appearances). Since then literally thousands of patrons have seen a wide variety of comedies, thrillers, cabarets and celebrity luncheons.

This is the permanent home to Starbuck Productions, a Queensland based production company that has built a strong reputation as a provider of quality entertainment. Starbuck was established more than a decade ago and in this time has produced live entertainment in venues such as the Queensland Performing Arts Centre, The Suncorp Piazza, Seagulls International Showroom, the Twelfth Night Theatre and in regional touring venues throughout south east Queensland.

Already their stable of shows is impressive, including Brisbane seasons of Hollywood Legend Mickey Rooney, Australian Musical sensation Rhonda Burchmore, The Australian Tom Jones Spectacular, Little Shop of Horrors.
More recently Starbuck has presented Agatha Christie\'s "Murder On The Nile", "Witness For The Prosecution", "And Then There Were None", and the riotous comedy "Ladies Night."

For 23 years, Harvest Rain operated out of the Sydney Street Theatre in New Farm, Brisbane. Over the years, hundreds of passionate theatre lovers gave their time to make theatre magic happen at Sydney Street both on stage and behind the scenes - it was the dedication of these folk that made the company what it is today.

In 2008, our company spread its wings and relocated to the Mina Parade Warehouse in Alderley, and began a partnership with QPAC that saw all of our main-house productions staged at the Queensland Performing Arts Complex.

La Boite Theatre Company is a leading Australian theatre company working out of the nation’s third largest city. It is a platform for inspired collaboration, seeking to produce and present theatre that draws on the full grammar of performance. We occupy Australia’s only purpose-built theatre-in-the-round, one of only a handful in the world, and embrace its distinctive possibilities. This is an epic-intimate space that calls for a theatre that celebrates the theatrical. It is an arena of inquiry and a coliseum of the senses.

We mostly create our own productions, but also seek collaborations with independent creative teams and both new and established companies from Queensland and beyond. We also present touring work. We have an appetite for new work, from both Australian and international artists, but also a taste for renovating the classic works of world drama by building surprising alliances and approaches. We aim to converse with the times - to unwrap the past and scrutinise the present as a means of expressing our aspirations for the future.

In 2004 a new era - the era of N@sh - had dawned, very much a more geographically flexible era. We secured the use, courtesy of Front Row Theatre, of the Hamilton Town Hall for our second play of 2004 - Medea. Several plays were, in fact, already in rehearsal during this unsettled period, the casts and crews of which were beginning to feel distinctly gypsy-like. Nash stormed back to Fortitude Valley after an agreement was made with the Trinity Anglican church
where we performed one our biggest (and oddest?) crowd pleasers of 2004 - a production of the Shakespeare classic A Midsummer Night\'s Dream. It couldn\'t compete, in crowd pleasing stakes, though, with our final production for 2004: Dan James\' "twist of lemon" take on Tarantino film Reservoir Dogs - an absolutely incredible effort from everyone involved.

All of which seems to mean our roving gamble is paying off: 2004 was, in fact, been a truly great year for N@sh - one in which we\'ve gone from place to place, and strength to strength, and back and forth to the pub. We\'ve made new friends, forged new "alliances", and broken new ground in all kinds of ways!

EDC (Expressions Dance Company) is defined by its commitment to the future evolution of contemporary dance in Australia and throughout the world. The cornerstones of the company are:

Under the leadership of Artistic Director Natalie Weir, and drawing on the talents of an ensemble of six extraordinary dancers, the company is well on it’s way to being recognised as one of the premier dance companies in the country.

In addition to main stage performances, EDC maintains its place at the forefront of contemporary dance through a busy program that includes regional, national and international tours; an extensive education program, professional dance training intensives; weekly dance classes; and development opportunities for emerging performers and choreographers.

The Society has enjoyed over 50 years of successful operation. Its venue is the Anglican Church Hall of St Luke\'s at Ekibin Rd East, opposite the junction of Sexton St, Annerley (or Tarragindi.)
Auditions are not held. Instead, we present rehearsed and staged play-readings over a particular weekend where the potential of an aspiring member can be assessed. Four major plays (comedies being the most popular choice) are presented each year and new members who have shown promise are given roles along with the main established actors.
Guest directors are invited into the yearly program to keep the standard high and we attract good audiences. Each major play season runs for 8 performances including 2 matinees.
From profits, exceedingly generous donations are directed to a long list of charities, including World Vision, Smith Family Sponsorship and local and overseas charities.
The hall has been set up as a theatre venue that attracts other fund-raisers who benefit from our discount offers for Block Bookings of 20+. Parking is accessible both in the grounds and nearby streets. The hall is a 7 minute drive from the City Centre, a phone is installed for patrons\' use and buses pass the door.

Established in 1961, Savoyards is Brisbane's longest continuously running community based musical theatre company, producing two large scale musicals each year.  Based in Brisbane's bayside, we are a nonprofit group, managed by a dedicated group of volunteers and supporters.

Savoyards is committed to helping performers of all ages develop their skills through engagement with professional directors, musical directors and choreographers as well as workshops with professional training organisations, such as the National Institute of Dramatic Arts (NIDA).

The Princess Theatre is the oldest theatre on mainland Australia, and is listed on the Queensland Heritage Register.

Constructed in 1888 in Annerley Road, Woolloongabba, the Princess Theatre is designed to an ornate Italianate style.

There were few productions staged in the 1890s and appropriately a clothing business was established in the dress circle during this period. It was still used periodically as a theatre but it is best remembered for film screenings which occurred after 1912.

Brisbane Powerhouse is both a producer of contemporary performing arts and a multi-arts, dining and conference venue. Nestled on the beautiful banks of Brisbane River (beside New Farm Park) the former power station has become a distinct landmark, both as a stunning industrial creation and as a hub for everything creative, including theatre, music, comedy, film, visual arts, festivals and ideas.

Owned and supported by Brisbane City Council, Brisbane Powerhouse opened as an arts centre in 2000 after its 30-year reign as a derelict power station. Bold industrial structures laced with European flair, raw textures and preserved graffiti walls combine to create the perfect artistic space and have earned the building a heritage listing.

Amateur theatre has been performing at the Sandgate Town Hall since the 1958. At the time they started with a donation of £5,5s from the local Rotary group under the name The Sandgate Little Theatre Group. Currently operating under the name of Sandgate Theatre, our theatre group performs three major plays (2 or 3 act) plays a year, as well as:
 

• The Theatre Restaurant - a musical play presented with a scrumptious three course meal,
• The One Acts - a collection of one-act plays and skits put together in one performance, and
• The Yarrageh Drama Festival, with amateur theatre groups from throughout South-East Queensland presenting their best one-act plays here at Sandgate.

Our plays range from hilarious comedies to serious dramas.

Visit the Historical Proserpine Museum, where you can learn about the interesting history of this sugar cane and cattle town. The establishment of a permanent museum in the Whitsunday region was a major initiative with strong support throughout the whole community. The facility is a multi-purpose venue, which houses the museum collection, and offers the opportunity for genealogical and extensive local history research. It affords educational benefits to their youth and has been embraced as a cultural centre for their local arts and crafts and travelling exhibitions. The museum will 'Bridge the Decades since Federation' with historical thought-provoking displays which showcase the most significant achievements of this region during the last century.

The Bundaberg Regional Art Gallery is the caretaker of the Bundaberg Regional Council Collection on behalf of the community of Bundaberg and the Bundaberg Regional Council. The Arts Gallery's role is to develop preservation and conservation plans and practices to ensure the future protection of this Collection and to make it accessible to the Bundaberg and district community through exhibitions and public display.

The Bundaberg Regional Art Gallery's permanent collection is comprised of four sub-collections which amount to over 400 works across all art forms. The Collection sub-sections include: The Dr Egmont Schmidt Memorial Collection, The Bundaberg Regional Council Corporate Collection ( which now includes the former Burnett, Isis and Kolan collections), The Bundaberg Regional Art Gallery Collection and the Bundaberg Public Art Collection.
