Within the serene simplicity of the Old Tanja Church (circa 1899), Narek Galleries presents exhibitions displaying exceptional art objects of ceramics, glass, textile, wood and metal. Between the October long weekend and the June long weekend, exhibitions change every six weeks. Occasionally the old Tanja Church can be hired for weddings. Some of Australia's foremost artists bring imagination to reality with breathtaking skills, to enrich intellectual and emotional lives. Sitting proudly in a garden oasis, this elegant heritage building has found a perfect re-use, exhibiting tomorrows heritage. Narek Galleries is situated on the coast road between Tathra and Bermagui, one of the most spectacular scenic drives on the far south coast, passing through the spotted gum forests of Mimosa Rocks National Park, across original timber bridges spanning pristine lakes and estuaries while to the north-west sits a backdrop of densely wooded mountains peaked by Mumbulla Mountain.

Just north of Tathra, this short track winds through a diverse range of vegetation to the shore of Middle Lagoon. It’s a great spot to bring the family or visitors to introduce them to the natural beauty of the region, with loads of wildlife and great birdwatching. Wallabies and kangaroos are often seen near the tranquil waters of the lagoon, as well as sea eagles, pelicans and black swans. When you reach the coast, enjoy a refreshing swim or surf. You might see dolphins frolicking in the waves, or perhaps whales during their annual migration.
