Here you can go on a beer expedition, following the River of Beer through which 150,000 liters of fresh beer flows each day. You’ll be guided through 150 years of brewing history & knowledge as you experience the sheer scale of this iconic facility on the banks of the Yarra. Return to the Brewhouse to sample your favorite brewery fresh beers, savour some lunch, play in the Brewer’s Yard or enjoy some fun and games on our new touch screen display.

The BrewHouse Cafe is open 11.30am - 3.30pm, Monday to Saturday, and Wednesday evenings. Join us for a delicious meal before or after your tour that matches perfectly with one of our fresh, cold beers!

Standard group tours can be booked during Brewhouse regular opening times, Monday-Saturday daytime & Wednesday nights. ‘After Hours’ tours can also be offered Monday & Tuesday nights for groups looking for a more exclusive experience.

The Carlton & United Brewery, Abbotsford Plant, is a genuine working brewery and production numbers vary week to week, as such, we cannot guarantee that all areas of the plant will be fully operational on the day you visit. Please call for an up-to-date production schedule.

Sea Kayak Australia (SKA) was established in 1994 and is based in Melbourne. SKA undertakes kayak tours and courses in Melbourne and Victoria.

The Farm is a non-profit organisation which relies on support from the community, as well as significant support from the City of Yarra and the State Government. A volunteer Committee of Management oversees the Farm, Committe members are elected each year at the Annual General Meeting.

Established in 2001 in Thornbury as part of Melbourne School of Art, 2010 saw the launch of Tacit Contemporary Art in its new location in Abbotsford. Opening with T.J.Bateson’s Veiled In Plain Sight , Tacit is a gallery for hire with a focus on young and emerging artists. Prior to it’s opening in January 2010, the premises in Abbotsford traded under the name T.J.Bateson Studio Gallery – an artist studio with the occasional public exhibition. The Yarra Sculpture Gallery is run by the Contemporary Sculptors Association.

The Contemporary Sculptors Association Inc. was founded in 1997 as a non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting contemporary sculpture and to extend and develop the role it plays in the Australian community.

The Association aims to work with individual artists, government and professional organisations, the commercial sector and the community to expand public awareness of contemporary sculpture and to stimulate the growth of sculpture as a professional practice.
 

Once whilst meandering through the streets of an unusually snowcovered Marseille, Richard Denny discovered an abandoned box of maps.

Upon further examination it was an extensive collection, holding topographic portrayals of most regions of France. As the overlord of general semantics, Alfred Korzybski, once said: “A map is not the territory”. This highlights the notion that one can peer at a map, and understand the layout of the land via it, but the map will only ever signify the geography of what is there, never accurately describe its nuances.

With any space comes a set of rules and regulations - and with the collision of cultural spheres that permeate the atmosphere the potential for creative ignition is heightened. Due to his lack of French, Denny was effectively a linguistically paralysed mute in the land of Euro-Afro fusion that is Marseille. Maps became his primary interactive tool and fast became a double-edged canvas used to vocalise and navigate his culturally imposed silence.
