Welcome to the Regal Theatre!
For the past 75 years The Regal Theatre has been the centre point of popular entertainment – from Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire in the 1930s to Slim Dusty and Barry Humphries in the 80s and 90s to the Johnny Cash Story and John Cleese in more recent years.
This much loved icon lives up to its name with its majestic facade and art deco charm.
Join us in the heart of Subiaco for a memorable night at the theatre.
The Subiaco Arts Centre, formerly Subiaco Theatre Centre, and prior to that the Subiaco Town Hall, was constructed in 1957. The design, by Architect Peter Parkinson of FGB Hawkins and Desmond Sands, is post-war international style. It was based on the Corbusier Modular design system, a system of proportioning which combines the Fibonacci number system with the average dimensions of the human body. The Town Hall was constructed within the Rankin Gardens which are bound by Hammersley, Hensman, Bagot and Rokeby Roads. Rankin Gardens and the buildings within form the Subiaco Civic Precinct.
As one of Australia’s first drive-in operators and the company responsible for the construction of Perth’s first cinema complex, The Cinecentre, Ace Cinemas has, since the 1950’s, been synonymous with the growth and diversification of Western Australia’s independent cinema industry.

Now with three state-of-the art venues, both metropolitan and regionally based, with cinemas in Midland, Rockingham and Subiaco, Ace Cinemas offers movie-goers a range of sophisticated modern venues and reinforces itself as a leading independent exhibitor in the Australian cinema industry today.
