The Bundaberg Region offers so many options to learn about the local flora and fauna. This journey takes in the Moore Park Beach water birds, feed the birdlife at the Botanic Gardens, head to Baldwin Swamp to meander the tracks that wind through the forest taking you down close to the lakes. Lastly, make your way to Mon Repos beach - if you are visiting during summer no visit is complete with a turtle encounter at the Mon Repos Conservation Park....

If you like to cruise, you can take a leisurely meander up the Burnett River on a guided boat tour. Or, head out to Lady Musgrave Island onboard a luxury vessel departing from the Bundaberg Port.
Pack your snorkel and togs though because just 15 minutes from the city, swimming, snorkelling, surfing and beachcombing are all just a quick dip away. Head anywhere between Burnett to Elliott Heads - or even ride a bike along the Coral Coast track to experience the wonders of the Southern Great Barrier Reef.
If visiting between November to March you can also have the Mon Repos turtle experience - a night tour offering up close and personal experiences with these ancient mariners while they lay and hatch.
Bundaberg is also known to have the pick of the crop when it comes to fresh produce straight from the farm. It's referred to as Australia's food bowl with nearly 90 per cent of the countries sweet potatoes grown in the region. The pick of the crop can be found there, with farm gate markets, fresh seafood and many local restaurants and cafes serving up the best, seasonal produce.

The Bundaberg Rum Distillery is the home of Australia's most iconic rum, which has been made to a time-honoured tradition since 1888.
The Visitor Experience offers three tours; the Bundaberg Rum Museum Experience, the Bundaberg Rum Distillery Experience and a Blend Your Own Rum Experience. There is also a Retail Store, where visitors can purchase exclusive and limited edition products, and the Bear Garden Cafe & Bar area.
The Museum Experience is a self-guided tour, where guests walk through six 75,000 litre oak vats in a unique sensory experience that showcases the proud and rich history behind the iconic Australian rum. As part of the Distillery Experience, guests join one of the expert guides on a journey deep into the heart of the fully operational distillery. For those that want to try their hand at becoming a Master Blender, the premium Blend Your Own Rum Experience allows guests to learn the art of blending their very own rum straight from the barrel.

Known as Bundaberg's own "Kakadu", Baldwin Swamp is home to many species of birdlife and wildlife. Meander through the trails and take in the smells of the Eucalypt trees whilst enjoying the peace and quiet Baldwin Swamp offers. The wetlands provide a roosting, breeding and feeding habitat for thousands of waterbirds.
You will find Lake Ellen Heritage Hub on the western side of Baldwin Swamp Environmental park. With plenty of shade, Baldwin Swamp is the perfect place for a picnic....
Starting off at the graceful Holy Rosary Catholic Church on Barolin Street this walk will take in the spectacular architecture and history of the Churches located in Bundaberg. This walk includes Churches of all different faiths.
This walk takes in the Bundaberg Uniting Church, Salvation Army Church, Restored Apostolic Mission Congregation as well as the Heritage Christian Centre and the Pentecostals of Bundaberg centre.

The East Water Tower is a must visit as it is believed to be the only circular brick tower in Queensland. Given Bundaberg's relatively flat terrain, this tower is the perfect example of late 19th century technology - using the increased water pressure provided by the tower in order to allow the reticulated water system to flow through efficiently.
