The 191 kilometre Waterfall Way is one of the world's most scenic drives. The road winds upwards from the Pacific Highway near Coffs Harbour to Armidale on the New England Tablelands. This breathtaking journey is the perfect way to experience the diversity of the changing landscape of the Great Dividing Range from the pristine coastal beaches climbing through lush tropical rainforest to the wide open plains of New England. Along the way you won't be able to resist stopping at the pretty market town of Bellingen renowned for its quality arts and crafts, its markets and a Jazz festival each August. The drive also provides the perfect opportunity to explore the Dorrigo World Heritage National Park. The Waterfall Way takes you through or close to several National Parks including Dorrigo, New England, Oxley and Cathedral Rock and there are many thrilling lookout points along the way.

Two kilometres north of Dorrigo town centre is Dangar Falls, a beautiful 30-metre waterfall set amidst scenic agricultural and dairy farmland. There's a car park, a viewing platform, picnic tables and a walking trail that leads you to the river at the bottom of the waterfall. The viewing platform offers a great vantage point and excellent photo opportunity of the falls. Dangar Falls is signposted from Dorrigo town.

The museum is devoted to the authentic preservation of all manner of items from the railways of New South Wales, as well as the Glenreagh to Dorrigo branch railway line. While not open to the public just yet, but check back soon. Some of the collection is available for viewing from the fence.

Griffith Lookout, on the other side of the Waterfall Way from Dorrigo National Park, offers some of the most superb views on the Coffs Coast. You'll enjoy breathtaking wilderness views of the Great Dividing Range unfolding before you looking south. To the east, you'll see the Pacific Ocean and, on clear days, right down to Kempsey some 100 kilometres away. Located among farms, the lookout point has an interesting interpretive display sign and picnic tables. From Waterfall Way, turn into Maynard Plans Road near the Lookout Motor Inn and, after one kilometre, you'll see a sign on the left pointing to Griffiths Lookout, which is another four kilometres along, at the end of the road.

Learn about the National Park's flora and fauna in the intriguing education area at the Dorrigo National Park Rainforest Centre. The centre provides information, a shop, an exhibition and cafe. An interactive display guides visitors of all ages through different aspects of this World Heritage-listed rainforest, and staff can provide detailed information on National Parks throughout north-east NSW. Dorrigo National Park provides everyone, even those who are wheelchair-bound, the opportunity to experience the unique rainforest environment. The Rainforest Centre has an educational interpretation centre. From here you can take a stroll on the popular Skywalk walkway and lookout platform over the escarpment edge for a close up view of the rainforest canopy. The boardwalk takes you over the top of the rainforest canopy, providing magnificent views over the rainforest, down to the Bellinger Valley and sometimes as far as the Pacific Ocean.

Misty Mountain Getaway in Dorrigo is your chance to immerse yourself in a range of patchwork workshops. With over 25 tutors from all over Australia, there is sure to be a number of patchwork workshops for you. The Getaway is just that, Getaway to Dorrigo and create Reproduction Quilts, Japanese Traditions, The Art Quilt Process, Memory Journals, Rainforest Scenes, Needle Turn Appliqué, painting scenes with fabric and threads, Felting, just to name a few. Six classes per day, over six days. Each year during the Getaway they focus on fundraising. The fundraising is for the local Hospital and all proceeds are handed over to the Ladies Auxiliary for them to purchase what they see is going to be of benefit. Take a walk amongst subtropical rainforest and 600-year-old trees along the Wonga walk in Dorrigo National Park, home to the Tristania and Crystal Falls. The Wonga walk delivers all the delights of the subtropical rainforest and is one of the most popular walks not only in Dorrigo National Park, but also in Australia. Tall, lush World Heritage listed rainforest provides a cool and shaded walking track. The cascading Crystal Shower Falls, 600-year-old trees, colourful fungi and interesting bird calls are just some of the sights and sounds waiting for you on this walk. There are some steeper sections along the walk, a few steps and some boulder crossings, but you can break the walk up into shorter sections. The walk starts from Dorrigo Rainforest Centre, you'll need to take Lyrebird link track for 400 metres before joining the Wonga walk. Look at the Dorrigo National Park map to see all the options....
