Discover the charm and history of All Saints Church in Henley Brook, which is the oldest church in Western Australia. Taking three years to build by one of the early pioneers of the area, Richard Edwards, the church has been hosting services since 1841.

Wander around the quaint church and examine the craftsmanship of the early settlers. Walk through the cemetery and read the inscriptions on the gravestones of significant pioneers who developed the colony, including William Mackie, Frederick Irwin and John Connolly.

The site of the church holds great significance as it was here that Captain James Stirling camped in 1827. As stated on a sign at the entrance of the church grounds, “it was here the vision of a State arose in his heart and mind.”

The Duckstein Brewery was one of the pioneers of craft brewing in Western Australia's popular Swan Valley where it continues to offer a traditional German dining experience and live music on weekends.

The beautiful surrounds of Saracen Estates on Caves Rd., Wilyabrup (Margaret River) plays host to the Duckstein Brewery. On display in the restaurant is a 1000L brewery which produces a range of German-style beers. Families are well catered for; with friendly staff, a kids playground and at-table activities. In 2010 the Duckstein Brewery was awarded the 'Best Boutique Brewery' in WA at the AHA Awards.

The House of Honey and the Sticky Spoon Cafe is located only 30 minutes from Perth’s City Centre, in the heart of the beautiful Swan Valley.

Our Honey Shop showcases a wide range of Honey and Honey based products all proudly made locally in Western Australia.

On display is a live observation hive in our education area where you can see bees at work in a real hive and learn about bees and honey production.

We are a Children's Play Centre and Birthday Party venue that has been running for 15 years. We cater for ages 0 - 14 years with our play areas and structure. We have a multi-level structure with tunnels, a helicopter, submarine, spaceship and multiple slides including one that reaches from roof level down to ground level. We have a Toddler area for ages upto 4 years which includes a ballpit, a tunnel, climbing wall and slide. There is also a bouncy castle for ages upto 5 years. We have play stations and x-box's for the use of all ages. We have a full cafe for mum and dad to enjoy a coffee or lunch while the kids play.

Established in 1907, the Midland Town Hall is one of the City's most recognisable buildings, full of historical charm and ambience. Located at the corner of Great Eastern Highway and Old Great Northern Highway, the building is a perfect function venue.

The main hall has a capacity to hold 291 people or 180 in a cabaret style setting and features a fully functional stage area with lighting grid, backdrop and an extendable stage if required, as well as a commercial kitchen on site and easy access off Great Eastern Highway.

In addition you will also find a range of models, memorbilia, club newsletters and manuals relating to the automotive industry. We have a small lounge where you can sit and browse through the books, magazines and newsletters.

This is a Museum run by the public for the public and is regarded by many curators around Australia as a leading example of Motor Museums.

Elmar's in the Valley was established by Elmar and Anette Dieren and is a German themed brewery, restaurant, bar and smallgoods shop located in the heart of the Swan Valley. Elmar's in the Valley has the largest micro glass brewery in the southern hemisphere, with modern glass and copper kettles which can be seen through glass viewing windows by guests enjoying a drink at the bar. Elmar's beer is brewed to the exacting standards of the oldest food standard laws in the world, the Bavarian Purity Law formed in 1516. The restaurant has an elegant open-plan wooden interior and furnishings; and offers an elegant, modern German style dining experience. We also have a huge two-acre outdoor beer garden area, licensed for up to 400 guests. The menu caters for all tastes, featuring traditional German and modern European cuisine, incorporating Elmar's preservative free smallgoods. A selection of the couple's smallgoods range can be found in one corner of the establishment, alongside a delectable range of European and Continental delights including European sweets and biscuits, selected preserves and a gift range from local arts and crafts. Elmar's in the Valley is a 30 minute drive north east of Perth.

Whiteman Park near Perth's Swan Valley is a perfect bushland escape from the city. Here you can enjoy a barbecue or picnic, go bushwalking and cycling, and take in some of the local attractions including an antique display, Transport Museum, Tractor Museum, shops and a café. The kids will love the historic tram and train ride which tours through a large slice of the park. Nearly half of its 4,300 hectares is designated as a conservation reserve. Here, there are woodlands of Marri, Jarrah and Banksia trees and Melaleuca wetlands. It's a great place for bird watching with more than 100 species of birds found in the park. Bennett Brook and Mussel Pool provide idyllic picnic spots. Whiteman Park was named after a local identity whose land was acquired by the Government to protect a major underground drinking water source supplying Perth. Whiteman Park is about a half an hour's drive from Perth.

If you like to hear and see history unfold before your eyes and are interested in Western Australia's rail heritage, plan a visit to the Interpretive Centre at the former Midland Railway Workshops. The Midland Railway Workshops Interpretive Centre, which is a Western Australian heritage icon and is a partnership between the Midland Redevelopment Authority and Rail Heritage WA. The Interpretive Centre is the former Time Keeper's Office at the entrance to the Workshops site. The Centre is dedicated to all who worked there from 1904 to 1994 and their families. The weatherboard building retains its 1920s ambience while high-tech audio-visual equipment brings back the voices of the workers to the site. The Centre gives visitors vivid insights into a former industrial workplace with a fascinating social history. Large panels give a cameo into Workshops activities, and a DVD and interactive touch screen allow you to find out more.

Located in Brigadoon, this picnic and bush walking spot at Bells Rapids is a prime viewing area to see competitors in the annual Avon Descent White Water Race battle the rapids. Explore the streams and waterfalls as you wander along the nature walks beside the Avon River. The area is not recommended for swimming. Access to the rapids is via a gravel road which leads to a car parking area. Dogs are permitted but remember to keep them on a leash. Bells Rapids is also the habitat of the beautiful grey kangaroo which can be seen at certain times of the year in abundance. You will enjoy scenic views of the countryside and coastal plains on this unique circuit walk trail.

John Forrest National Park is one of Australia's oldest conservation areas and Western Australia's first national park. Located in the Darling Ranges about half an hour's drive from Perth, the park offers excellent bush walking, mountain biking, scenic drives and rock pools ideal for swimming. Western Australia's colonial pioneers recognised the park's environmental value, declaring it a reserve in 1898. Go walking along one of the trails through rugged wilderness, or along a disused railway line to quiet pools and spectacular waterfalls. You'll also be rewarded with magnificent views over the city and metropolitan area. Popular Rocky Pool picnic area is set among attractive wandoo and paperbark woodland. Here, after winter rains, you can sit and watch the waters of Jane Brook tumble down a series of small rapids into the pool. There's plenty of wildlife to observe including many native birds, possums and bandicoots. In spring time, wildflowers colour the landscape. There are great picnic facilities, extensive walk trails, and limited camping facilities. Tearooms and a tavern are open regularly. The park covers more than 1,500 hectares of land and is best accessed from Great Eastern Highway.

Woodbridge (1885) is a beautiful heritage building overlooking the Swan River near the historic town of Guildford. Stop in to enjoy a cup of tea in the old coach house adjacent to Woodbridge, which is now a tea-room and gift shop. Take a look around the impressive two-storey residence which features white iron lacework, wide verandas and a central tower. Its interior has been carefully restored and furnished to reflect the late Victorian and early Edwardian periods. Woodbridge House was built in 1885 for Charles Harper and family, the house was considered one of the most gracious in Western Australia. It remained a private home until 1920 when it became a private school. Located just 30 minutes east of Perth. Guildford is well worth a day trip to soak up the historic beauty, traditional landscapes and friendly village atmosphere. Spend some time combing through antique shops or just wandering the main street admiring the old buildings.
