Inland Waters Holiday Parks Lake Burrendong boast wide open spaces and country hospitality. Holding three and a half times the volume of water of Sydney Harbour, Lake Burrendong is the perfect location for waterskiing, wakeboarding, biscuiting and fishing in Central West NSW. A range of fish species including the Murray Cod, Golden Perch, Silver Perch, Catfish, Redfin and Trout can all be found in Lake Burrendong. It was constructed in 1967 for flood mitigation purposes. Since then it has become a haven for keen anglers and water sports enthusiasts.

Burrendong Botanic Garden and Arboretum has one of the largest collections of Australian plants in cultivation. Over 50,000 flowering plants, shrubs and trees from more than 2,000 species are growing on 164 hectares overlooking the beautiful Lake Burrendong. The Arboretum's mission is to preserve and promote Australia's unique flora. Many rare and endangered species are being grown there. The Arboretum was established in 1964, and has proven to be especially successful at growing plants from Western Australia and areas of low rainfall. It has received worldwide recognition for its remarkable collection of Australian plants and its pioneering role in the cultivation and promotion of our unique flora. At all times there are some native plants in flower but from late winter to early summer the Arboretum explodes into colour as the hakeas, grevilleas and wattles are in bloom. Indoor plant lovers will love the collection of sub tropical plants.

Stuart Town was originally called Ironbarks, the village Banjo Paterson used for his poem, 'Man from Ironbark'. The Historic Town Walk encompasses the Open Air Museum, Railway Station, Bicentennial Rock, Cobbler's Cottage, the Ironbark Inn and much, much more! Between 1875 and 1914 it is estimated that 140,000 ounces of gold was mined here. You can stroll across The Common and see many old mines. There are over 50 mine shafts and a Chinese oven which is evidence of the strong role Chinese miners played in the development of the Central NSW goldfields. The Man From Ironbark Festival is an annual Easter festival in the rustic village of Stuart Town formerly Ironbarks. Street stalls, street parade, live entertainers, doll, bear and craft expo, poetry in the pub, children's activities, helicopter rides, stage coach rides, art exhibition, historic buildings inspections, morning teas and lunches. Step back in time and follow the history of Stuart Town, her early settlers and the gold rush in pictures at Boehme's Hall. Discover the personalities of Ironbarks, as the town was formerly know, and the Hall's namesake, Charles Henry Boehme 'a quaint little man of fantastic ideas and a heart of gold', who emigrated to Australia from Silesia, Central Europe, to become a celebrated member of the community. Boehme's Hall is open Tuesdays (Craft Day) and Saturdays with morning tea available on Saturday mornings. Also take the time to visit the Open Air Museum, which is next to Boehme's Hall.
